Ps>> I thought I would also share my favorite shelling spots on Sanibel. I have had a lot of luck at the lighthouse beach. I park at the lot, and walk down to just past the lighthouse. The section between the bay and the gulf (between the lighthouse and the fishing pier) seems to have lots of shells. Be careful of the current though. It can really be strong.
I also like the beach between Sanibel and Captiva. There is a parking lot just as you cross over the bridge for captiva. If you catch it at the right time, the shells will be piled in mounds!
Have loads of fun, and hope you find a special shell!
Cindy
