Don't get me wrong; I am not saying that the Sanibel-Captiva beaches are jammed. They are fairly quiet, and only somewhat crowded for the midday crowds (at this time of year). They just aren't "secluded." You will see other people there, even at night, but that doesn't mean that you will be crowded by them. I have not been to Cayo Costa, so I don't know much about it.

This is a quiet time of year for restaurants, too. I think that we wiated as much as 5 minutes for a table at this time of year, and even that much of a wait is a rarity.
