I know we all know the results, but if anyone is interested in watching this year's MAOT pageant that was held in Aug. it is now posted on the following website:

www.enterteenmentonline.com

It is in two parts, about an hour run time for each part.

If for no other reason you can watch "THE DRESS" that Katie wore that night in motion!

What's going on over there. I heard Secily Seljeskog was 1RU again...for the 4rd year in a row! Has that ever happened before? Why can't she ever win?

My Miss TOP 5-
Tracy Turnure (Tara Turnure's sister)
Sarah Carter (is she a returner)
Meghan Jerome (is she a returner)
Kelly Backous (MAO crossover)
Lauren Ice (not a fan of her hair, but a looks like a competitor)

Ones who might surprise us- Tera Martin, Sydney Garcia-Wheeler, Janette Armand (where have I seen her before).
So darn cute award- Rachel Kevin... can I just shrink you and put you in my pocket?

My TOP 5 for Teen:
Camilla Cyr
Cara Lundborn
Casey Posey (what an adorable Teen name)
Lauren Kuhn (MAOT crossover, 1RU to MAOT WA in 2008)
Summer Haag (not a fan of the picture)

Ones who might surprise us- Goldy Ho, Haley Carey, Kyla Dixon, Olivia Cruzat
So darn cute award- Casey Posey.

Honestly, I'm rooting for Lauren and Kelly since they are personal friends of mine. They could both walk into their interview and blow everyone out of the water. Kelly's swimsuit presentation is really good. Since I've never seen/don't know much about any of the other girls, I can make any strong predictions, but it's always fun to take a shot in the dark. If I had to call it right now, Casey and Tracy.

Head on over to misswashingtonusa.com and take a look at pictures (I can't make my predition posts as pretty as yours, Meemaw). I put some of my "wonderings" in the parenthesis... I'm just getting into this MUO thing and I pretty much don't know what I'm talking about. ;) Any help is super welcomed! Yay... go WA!

At the end of the nine weeks, I always reward my classes who performed for our parent night with a "fun" day. So, my 4th and 5th graders performed this past time. I purchased this funny episode of the Jonas Brothers for them to watch. It's time for the annual "Miss Most Amazing Teen Competition" and Kevin, Joe and Nick are the lucky boys who'll get to pick the lovely winner. Their dream job turns into a nightmare, however, after Stella makes a fool of herself during the pageant. And her final question answer is a paradoy of Caitlin Upton's final answer at Teen USA. So funny!! tee hee!

I'm sure we've discussed this before, but I'd like to discuss it again. Everyone is up in arms about Rush being asked to judge.

So here is my question...MAO is teetering on the precipice of popularity and relevance right now. We need that one relevant and controversial judge to spark our ratings. So who would it be? Who do you think is the ONE judge that can bring us back among the living and inspire Americans everywhere to tune in?

A few controversial thoughts:

Ellen
Donald Trump (would he be a judge for his competitor? Dare we ask him? ;)
Miss Universe
Simon Cowell
Paris Hilton
David Letterman
Megan Fox (dumber than dirt but ratings...)

If you can't think of anyone, ask yourself THIS question - what celebrity would you turn on the tv just to see, even if you were watching a show that was about something you didn't enjoy?

After all, it's not about promoting to pageant fans. They are tuning in! We need that one celebrity that will pull in the average American who doesn't know the difference in USA and America.

Lets get a list going!

Okay guys.. Gypsy has a major dilemma... I REALLY need your help :'(. I beg...

If you know me, you know I'm a natural blonde. In Nashville, for the first time ever, I dyed my hair brown and I loved it. But, its time for me to go back to my roots...

So yesterday I let a hairstylist take me back to "blonde" (or so I thought?" for the first time ever... and lets just say I am LESS than thrilled with the results. It's not blonde, its now brown with extreme highlights. I can't stand it. I want this mess off my head. I only want to be one color.. not 20.

Has anyone ever had an experience with going from dark to light? And when I say light, I mean I want my natural blonde back.. I have very light hair under here. My roots took to the color really well, but the end of my hair that had been color sealed did not.

I'm in New York.. if you know anyone here who can do something about it, please let me know. If you have experience in this and know what the process is like, please let me know... I'm so unhappy that I have to walk around with this. I hate highlights on dark hair. :(

I know they probably can't go back straight to blonde, but I also know that this is a total disaster. Thoughts?

Seeking to give the Miss California USA pageant a new look, officials announced today they will do away with sashes and swimsuit uniforms and crown two winners when the pageant is held in Rancho Mirage next month. The final 10 contestants from the initial field of 150 will wear what was described as individualized styles created by designer Tony Bowls. “This year’s event will be bigger and reflect the progressive attitudes of the contestants as well as our forward-looking state,” said Keith Lewis, executive director of Miss California USA. “It will change the essence of Miss California USA from a bathing suit beauty contest to the style of a runway show during fashion week.” Pageant officials were not immediately available to elaborate on the decision to crown two winners instead of one. The pageant winner advances to compete in the Miss USA pageant, whose winner competes in the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss California USA pageant was won last year by Carrie Prejean, who was stripped of her title in June for allegedly missing scheduled appearances and for showing up at ones that were not approved by pageant officials. Prejean filed a lawsuit in August against pageant officials, alleging she was stripped of her crown because of her religious beliefs, which oppose same-sex marriage. Prejean responded to a question at the Miss USA pageant from celebrity blogger and pageant judge Perez Hilton about same-sex marriage and said she believed marriage should only be between one man and one woman. The pageant will be held Nov. 22 at The Show at the Agua Caliente Resort and Spa and will air live from 3-5 p.m. on selected CW and My Network TV stations, Lewis said.

Subject: Forced Out Of Miss Colombia...

Date Posted: 22:58:42 10/14/09 Wed

Diana Maria Salgado, current Miss Valle and competitor tipped to win the crown of this year's Miss Colombia, announced she had been forced to withdraw from the pageant due to pressure from superiors who told her she had gained too much weight. In an interview on Wednesday with news station W Radio, Salgado dismissed her initial reason for withdrawing two weeks ago - which allegedly was due to "health reasons." The beauty queen revealed that the real reason she pulled out was because her superiors, namely the President of the Combelleza competition, forced Salgado to withdraw because she had gained 5 kilograms and was no longer "fit to represent La Valle." Salgado justified this claim by stating that the extra weight had been gained as a result of a poor training regime which made her gain muscle mass, not fat. "For two weeks they told me I would undergo treatment and be given a 'slimming' vaccination ... but now they sack me due to this," quoted Salgado. The beauty queen, who happens to be a lawyer, confirmed that she intended to take legal action against those who forced her to relinquish the crown.

article I found on Miss CA: Kristy Cavinder... Flying High Full of Life

Behind the scenes of the Glory of Christmas.
On June 28, Kristen (Kristy) Cavinder was crowned Miss California 2009-only one achievement of many for this exceptional 21-year-old. From Crystal Cathedral's perspective, Kristy Cavinder has always been a bright and rising star. Kristy "grew up" at the Crystal Cathedral, with her parents and grandmother filling key church roles. And Kristy has found meaningful ways to put her unique talents to work in this ministry, as well.

A child dancer in The Glory of Christmas and The Glory of Easter in 1999, Kristy soared to new heights (90 feet to be exact) as a flying angel ('04) and solo dancer ('05-'08). "Being part of the 'Glories' was a lifelong dream," Kristy revealed. "I remember attending the 'Glories' at five years old and telling my grandmother that I had to become a dancer. She told me to practice so I could jump over the fountains without getting my dress wet-and I did! I've been dancing for 17 years and don't intend to stop any time soon. I've been blessed with the opportunity to share my love of dance and love of the Lord with thousands of people each year."

Kristy, who minored in dance at the University of Southern California (USC) and studied at New York City's American Ballet Theater, has also danced in the Disney Resort's "Electrical Light Parade" and "Parade of Dreams."

Kristy's education also included Crystal Cathedral Schools where she took an active leadership role. "During my senior year," Kristy explained, "I started the 'Broadway Our Way' program. I realized that our school provided an incredible arena to give younger students older role models to look up to." That program eventually grew into the GEL (Growing Exceptional Ladies) program where junior high girls continue to meet with senior high mentors, discussing issues like self-confidence, making healthy choices, and growing in relationship with the Lord.

Recently hired as Crystal Cathedral Children's Ministry's Team Leader, Kristy is also a parttime USC student until she graduates in December and goes on to attend graduate school next spring. As Miss California, Kristy looks forward to competing in the Miss America pageant in January 2010. When asked what this competition has meant to her, Kristy responded, "I thought it would be a fun way to perform and earn scholarship money, but it has bettered me in every area of my life. I've become more confident, poised and capable, and more refined in my ballet talent. I've also learned how to stand strong in my beliefs and ideals. I'm honored to be Miss California and hope that this title will help me encourage and equip young people to dream big and realize that, with God, they have the potential to do anything." Flying high among the stars is this "angel" of ours- Kristy Cavinder!

There is no shortage of morally outraged volunteers & fans over the recent MAO judge announcement BUT where are the indignant contestants? Will there be even one titleholder with enough integrity to say I will not allow myself to be demeaned by submitting any aspect of my life to be judged by the pig who said such things as: Women were doing quite well in this country before feminism came along ... Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream ... Women vote with their vaginas

If all 53 women are willing to stand in front of this guy then doesn't that say as much, if not more, about where this program is headed then the insensitivity & insensibility of the judges chairman who pick him?
