Subject: Dark Question For 8/23

Vampire stories have been around for a very long time. Throughout the ages, in MANY different cultures from MANY different parts of the world...there have been 'vampire' legends that have stood the test of time. Immortal creatures of the night that feed off of human blood. In Greece, in Romania, in South Africa, in Peru, in Russia, in China, in Spain, in America, in Mexico.

Now...it isn't like there was an 'internet' back then. No telephones. Not even an effective means of travel from one culture to the next. No way for them to really speak to one another and pass on these legends. No way to create a global audience for ths dark 'fairy tale'. So how is it that this 'creature' has appeared in ALL of the ancient societies at one time or another throughout human history? In almost exactly the same manner?

Is it a REALLY strange coincidence? Or...is it possible that this isn't as much of a fairy tale as the darkness would have us believe?
