Subject: Never seen "Near Dark"???

Ok...then this has officially become homework!

Let me just say, that when I was a kid, "Near Dark" probably influenced a great deal of the vampire plight that I'm using in "GFD" today! (And, I'm sure, parts of "Savage Moon" too!) I think that was one of the very first movies I ever saw that showed a vampire that didn't WANT to be a vampire. Even though the main character (A young Adrian Pasdar from 'Heroes') was accepted by this small family of rebels, he just couldn't give in to the thirst. If you want to see a movie that's part "GFD" and part "SM"...this would be it. I LOVED this movie growing up! It really touched something in me for some reason. So check it out!

Also, the director, I believe, was James Cameron's wife at the time! Yes, THAT James Cameron (Terminator 1 & 2, Titanic, Aliens, The Abyss, etc)...so it has half the cast of "Aliens" in it! Hehehe! AND...'Homer'...a boy vampire that was trapped in the body of a teenager. How could that NOT inspire the stuff I write?

So yes...go to your video stores and seek that one out! It's a must see! Even if it is an 80's movie! I haven't seen it in YEARS myself, but I'm definitely gonna check it out again now!

And see "Fright Night" too!!! Scared the shit out of little ol' me on late night HBO! Hehehe!
