I imagine the hunters going after Justin.They would find him at the lot, where the battle itself would take place.After an intense battle, Justin ends up getting that fatal blow.A spike to the heart.The hunters leave to let the elders know that "problem" is over.Now, in comes Bryson.He always said he would die for any one of them ,and he meant it.He heals Justin, but that means the taking on the fatal injury.Since there is no healing, Bryson goes for a sun quest.
This is just an idea I had on what might happen in the story
