The Captain of the Athelsultan was James Dominic Donovan . He was my Uncle Jim ( not a real uncle ) He and my Dad( Capt Bill Hartley ) were friends and my brother and I would often go to the Donovan's house in Liverpool. Both Dad and Uncle Jim were awarded the Lloyds Medal for Bravery at Sea. Somewhere I have the citation for his medal which gives details of the sinking of the ship. When I find it , I will forward it on to you. As far as I know, Jim died in the 1960s. Best wishes Bren Shackleton
