My father, John George Nelson born 23 May 1923 mentioned in conversation this evening that on his last trip before discharge from the merchant navy his ship caught fire at sea and that it was reported in the Daily Express. He said the ships name was S S Tordene and he expressed surprise that it was reported in the paper during wartime
