Someone once said that we live in the Look At Me Generation. People out there want to draw attention to themselves. Ten years ago, it was through being an alterna-turd by styling your flannel, long purple hair (which I had), and ripped up jeans. Then we went through that goth/skater/jackass phase where it with huge ass pants, makeup, blue hair, and all that shit. NOW, people are driving the hooptie mobiles down the street. Why the hell are people buying a $15,000 Honda Civic only to put $30,000 of crap into it. Spoilers so high that they don't clear tollbooths. Rims so big that the tires look like rubber bands. The lights all cleared out. Fart cannons on the back so the engine sounds like a bike w/ baseball cards in it. And don't forget the thumpin' homie base so loud that you feel the music before you hear it. WTF.

Don't forget the decals across the windshield or the back window of the car. The decals that usually appear on the rear window, smack dab in the middle of it, is the symbol of the automaker. Like a giant Honda "H" or that stylized Toyota "T". And on the top of the windshield there's usually the model name, like "CIVIC" in giant letters...I've seen some pretty ridiculous instances of this...I'm talking about model names that you would never expect to see proudly proclaimed, like once when I saw "METRO" screaming across the windshield of a little Geo. What the hell? I have a Geo and I don't really want to proclaim that. It is economical and practical but not really something that begs for announcement.

And you gots to have some Chinese writiner all over the car. The back lights need to be cleared out and the windows need to be tinted so black that you can't see.

What ever happened to a nice Caddy with hydraulics in it?

Nice to see the good doctor is back. Where my dogs at? All the cats up in this place? I don't want no pigeons. Is this Compton or Noah's Ark?

Peut-être vous devriez avoir recherché votre âne au club gai.

Striking debate in here this morning, lads. I think that it is just the root of the dirty American soul to draw attention to yourselves while putting forth this stand-offish attitude. Your youth insist on wearing Yankee (how appropriate that you wanking Yanks embrace such a name) and wear those preposterous tank tops (I believe the trailer-dwelling sect of your society calls them 'wife-beaters'), while driving these terrible autos and harm the air more. Why can't your youth just take the Tube like we do? Any why must you draw attention to yourself just to perpetuate some image that you are a tough person? OUR gentry does not partake in such activities. I guess it is something about your basic nature. After all, you continue to drive on the wrong side of the road! Remember lads, Right is Right and Left is Wrong!

I think Bob Dylan explained it best when he said "Go pick me some cotton boy!"

Is the dark, dark tinting of windows a sign of our increasing unwillingness to communicate with each other? Then again, there are drivers that I have encountered that have the clearest windows and they never even look at you. They don't give or return the friendly waves that make letting people into a lane or whatever so nice a feeling.

What a paradox, the car that screams "CHECK ME OUT!" with tinted windows so dark that the driver cannot be seen. Look but don't see. What an oxymoron is created: "public anonymity"...just like what is possible on the Internet...

Are people afraid to communicate on the road due to road rage? Doe the lack of communication create road rage in turn? Questions, questions...
