His body raged for the food, blood sang in an agonized chorus for the vinegar, his mind becoming laden with a haze from the first pickle already. He fell to his knees and grabbed the pickle, sticking one end in his mouth and sucking out the juice, trembling, hunching over. He gave a small and weak moan as the acrid liquid slid down his throat, the natural drug soothing his mind into a waking sleep and numbing the pain.
