Hmmmm....maybe, she can be independent of him, and he for her, but only for short amounts of time. They're both parasitic. Right now, even, the two are fighting for control of the body USING WILL POWER.
Like, she has control over his arm, but could have alot more. His strong will to be NON taken over by parasites (and his repulsion of her) drives her to control his arm and arm only. When she first swallowed him, they became one, and now, like, it's like, been a constant battle for ground between them. A part of her LETS him win, a bit, because she's in love with him and wants him to be happy, so at first, she LET him grow out of her. She just let it go too far, and now they are....like this.
Maybe even, Christabella's deal with naomi goes something like, if she helps Christabella, she'll grow them a whole NEW body to share between them, one for him and one for her, but they have to be touching CONSTANTLY or within a few feet of eachother constantly or else they die?
And yes, yes it does.
