[> Bayesian believer -- rmartin, 23:59:16 04/12/08 Sat [1]

As you probably know, Thomas Bayes was a British mathematician who lived in the middle 1700's. His theory on probablility is used today in a wide variety of applications such as the movement of celestial bodies, medical statistics, and spam e-mail filter programs, just to name a few. These are the baby steps to creating a sentient machine. Past experiance can be used by a program to predict future events. In other words, a Bayesian program has the ability to learn and grow beyond it's program.
