I needed a bit of a break so I am not home now. I am staying with some friends in Ontario for a bit.
Earl did zero damage to my place. In fact, I don't know anyone who did suffer any damage. Its a nice change from when Juan hit us a few years ago.
The day before I left, we couldn't get a hold of mom'solder sister, Dollie. She's 84. I have a key to her apartment so I went in to see what was wrong. My key wouldn't open the door. She used a dead bolt. I pounded on the door and banged on every window with no response. So i called 9-11. The first cop did everything I'd just done and then he said, "I can open the door, but you need to tell me too." I said, "Open the door." We found her sitting in her lazyboy right next to a window we'd been banging on. The blinds were all closed so we couldn't see her. She was awake and alert but not really 'right.' They took her to the hospital where she stayed for 3 days. Then they sent her home to my house so my mother could look after her until she died. They found she was full of cancer. She died last night.
That sucks but my sister is home with mom, and she has three other sisters who are there to help so I am not going home early.
Anyway I am not sure how long I am staying but it'll be at least two weeks. I just start feeling better and I get another letter or phone call from my idiot sister. The other day I got an email from my oldest sister who said Ann told her she was going to call and tellme to come home immediatelky because mom didn't eat her breakfast. Jean said, "If you do that, Rick will go home and kill you. This kind of stuff is the reason Rick had to get away." This morning Ann called to say Dollie passed away and then she said, "When are you coming home?" I said, "I told mom the only reason I'll come home early is for a funeral and Dollie doesn't want a funeral so I am not coming home early."
so thats it. I need to take a vacation from my vacation now.
