Subject: Not too much notice

One sophmore who is not not listed on Battlenotes but should not be overlooked is Nick Samaras. In winter track he does the 55 meter, 300 meter , long jump, and also was the starting leg on Alvirne's 4x160 meter relay team. He has great raw talent and proves himself in the relay as a runner who gets it done. While only making State Provisionals for the 300 meter and not making Class L's for the 300 meter he has made great strides in the event. He showed little promise freshman year in the long jump, but he has jumped significantly farther his sophmore winter track season. This kid is looking pretty promising as long as he can stay healthy. Keep a close eye on this potential college athlete.

I saw him (Samaras) run at the UNH meet on January 27th where he posted his best 300 m supposedly and he came in 5th overall out of 40 other 300 runners scoring points for a struggling Alvirne team. Easily one of the most dominant 300 runners in the sophmore class. Id rank him second out of the entire Class L sophmore class in the 300 meter to Craig Berube of Manchester Memorial. Craig is just a plain fantastic runner. He is in a class with the elite 300 runners.
