How to write na effective Lesson Plan
Writing a lesson plan is something that many teachers have left behind.Nevertheless, even the ones that have not been planning a lesson agree with the fact that a meaningful and productive class depends a lot on writing an effective lesson plan.Although there are enourmous variation concerning teachers’ methodology and students’ needs, some guidelines should be followed in order to achieve a satisfactory result in classroom.Let us identify those guidelines.
Firstly ,when starting writing a lesson plan , the teacher should determine a topic to be approached .Thus, it is necessary to think over the complete information on the topic ,the appropriate use of spelling ,grammar, punctuation and many extra information that might be related to it.Also, this stage in the lesson plan requires from teachers a deep and accurate knowledge concerning what has been already taught and how helpful it may be to get the new topic. Then, the teacher may start planning the goal or aim of the lesson.
Secondly, regarding the goals or aims, they are crucial to specify the purpose ,rationale and what the teacher and his students will engage during class time. The goals are typically written as broad educational or unit goal adhering to state ,National Curriculum standards and students’ necessities for accomplishing a function in real life.Next, the teacher is able to organize and develop the strategies to be performed in order to get the goals. For instance, the teacher should think about and also think up ways in which students are able to practice the task and develop their abilities .Hence, it should be included in the lesson whatever they should do (e.g “listen for repeating pronunciation”,’writing for memorizing drills”) during the explanation.
Thirdly, the teacher should write down the procedures that he or she is going to observe and follow throughout the class. The procedures refer to descriptions of what has to be done in first place and so on..For instance, when an English teacher prepares a lesson focusing on speaking ,it is likely that he establishes in the lesson plan that the first thing to be done is a brainstorming”(elicitting ideas, words from students) .Moreover, he may consider that the next purposeful step should be showing pictures for initiating a discussion.Evidently, the procedures could only be defined after narrowing the topic, establishing the goal and thinking up strategies.
To sum up,a well and effective lesson plan can really improve the results gained in class. If a teacher takes the mentioned guidelines into consideration, it is likely that he or she will feel pretty much better and confident to teach their classes whereas students ,consciously or not, realize how purposeful is the class.
