Peer Editing Ana Karla to Caroline

Hello Carol, here's my peer editing to your text.

Reading Critically in English

Some students had lot of difficulties to read a tecnic text in English. They think that is hard, but actually, it is not. There are some steps that teachers can follow to facilitate the process of reading. Teachers should be aware that reading is a dynamic activity.
The first thing that teachers should do is being aware of the background knowledge of the students. Pre-activities are very important because they evaluate the knowledge that students have of that specific subject. For example, teach some vocabulary before reading can be a motivation to the learner, which facilitate the text comprehension.
The second step is called Skimming. In this stage, the reader should read the text very briefly, a general view about the subject. Explore pictures, subtitles, graphics and title are examples of look for general information. Learners should not spend much time in this stage, few minutes are enough to do it.
After skimming, students should scan the text, that is, look for specific information. These informations can be found in dates, names, when the italic form is used, uses of cognates, so on. Through Scanning, readers can have a better knowledge about the subject. Is also important in this stage, that readers should number the paragraphs and the lines in the text, to facilitate the exploration. However, tittles and subtitles are not number.
The forth step is Language Study, which includes vocabulary and grammar studies. Exercises about vocabulary, as use of synonyms, word formation, helps the learner to memorize and internalize English expressions. Grammar can be explored by showing the importance of use the grammar in the right form in the text.
Finally the text can be read properly. In this stage the reader analyze the main points of the text, by doing exercises, for example:. Teachers should read loud the text to students. This is a good opportunity to them relate the oral language with the written form and to students improve their pronunciation. And also teach that intonation is very important to comprehend the text.
Post-texts activities are also very important in the process of reading and comprehending a text. In this last stage students are able to reflect and criticize the text based on the author’s opinion, or the applicability of the subject in real life.
The creativity of the teacher is also very important in this process because through the text teacher can perceive the real interests and needs of his/her student. Knowing all this process the student will be able to read and analyze any text in English.

*have many difficulties is better than Had lot because it doesn't make sens to put the sentence in the past and a lot is very informal.
*a : there's no need to put an "a" here because it gives the impresseion that it's about an specific text and you want to talk about tecnical texts in general.
*teachers: they - you can change to they here in order to avoid repetition
*aware; change this word to another one with similar meaning.
*facilitate: you can change to "make the process easier"
* However, tittles and subtitles are not number.- I did not understand the meaning of this sentence..it is quite strange, try to reformulate it.
*the intonation: "that" is weird don't you think so?
*Your text is well written. It is exactly what a process analysis essay should be. You were good at separating the steps and explaining them. The conclusion is good as well.
