Students atitudes are very important to the learning process.

English teachers have a strong concept of good students.

To be a teacher sometimes can be considered an

inner desire people have. One can say that teachers are

gifted people, but it does require preparation. Although

all beliefs about the issue of being a teacher, there is a

fact that student participation in the learning process is

essential. And some research has been made on the subject

in order to show and analyze the important aspects on the

teaching/learning process and their influences on it.

Lev Vygotsky, defended the interaction in the

classroom as a factor of motivation, and consequently, an

aid for achieving better results in the learning process.

The educational psychology studies the mental relation and

the behavior the individuals assume while they are in the

school age. Vygotsky, with his new theories, is one of the

prominent names on the 20Th century.

In Brazil, English teachers deal with the

difficulties of making their students to improve their

skills on the language use. This necessity has enabled

teachers to find what are the main problems students

present during the process. According to R. de Araújo

(2004) No less important is the role of the student himself

in the process. A survey has been made and it has showed in

its conclusion that 100% of the interviewed thought that

self interest helps students to have better results at the

end of the courses (R. de Araujo. P112 - sq2). As well as

the participation of students is important, teachers are

conscious of the phases students pass through and the

limits they have in each age of their life, and it is also

an important factor.

Actually, the importance of the student in the

process of learning a foreigner language is true, but it

cannot be considered an isolated factor of influence on the

process, it is necessary to consider the psychological

structure of the group to be taught, as it was mentioned in

the previous paragraph it has a direct influence upon the

development of the students and each age group will present

its own rhythm and will be able to give feedback to the

activities and contents.
