Date Posted: 13:20:07 08/22/10 Sun Hey Group, Reflecting on what I've read and on what is asked in "Question 3", I would like you to read, correct and comment this thought: The authors validate their own thoughts and conclusions through the use of reliable sources. They do not write only about their personal thoughts, but they show through tables, inferences and research data what they “have found”. Which means they are not writing about something they ‘think’ is true or possible, but they actually show their findings through reliable findings. Diane Malcom divides her article in many parts in order to make the ideas clearer and easier to follow. In addition to that, she shows in each part how she has proceeded with her investigation and to each conclusion that has led. Malcom used questionnaires and she wrote her considerations based on 160 students’ evaluations. She also demonstrates four tables with results, demographic differences, etc. Chen and Cheng also bases their thoughts on their readings and they come out with results through researches they have when they were “accompanying” the three teachers and on interviews the have done with them. In spite of what is seen in Chen and Cheng (more personal researcher/writers, in a way they seem to analyze freer their findings), both articles come as reliable bases source of research, since they bring do not bring only the writers’ ideas, but also their procedures, their results, their conclusions, those all bases in actual data and deep reading and analysis of the facts.
