Date Posted: 11:20:17 11/28/09 Sat ** All About Sagittarius Sagittarians are classically known as the 'favorites of the gods' for good reason: These folks are famous for generosity, humor and optimism, as well as for the ability to see the best is every situation, no matter how dire the circumstances. A Sagittarius will find a real reason to celebrate each and every day -- due in no small part to Jupiter, the Archer's planetary ruler and the planet most known for benevolence. Of course, the other side of this coin is excess and extravagance. So in addition to knowing how to laugh -- and how to make others laugh -- Sagittarians are also experts at overdoing everything. At the same time, if a Sag really does have to be restricted to just one of anything, it had better be the biggest or most impressive of its kind -- literally, a one-of-a-kind object. Sagittarians are also famous for their love of travel and philosophy; they crave knowledge, and will spare no effort to satisfy their innate curiosity. Sag's own personal philosophy is that life is really nothing more than a series of extended vacations -- hence the reason so many born under the sign of the archer end up living in a different city, state or even country than where they were born. When it comes to relationships, Sagittarians often find that some of their most successful ones are with four-legged creatures -- their connection to anything with fur, feathers and even leaves is legendary. Romantically speaking, if you're a human, you can only 'have' a Sag of your very own if you're willing to hold on with an open palm. Restrictions will not be tolerated. However, if you let your Sag sweetie know that you care, but allow them to live as they see fit, you'll have gained an intelligent, witty and highly impressive partner whose long-term loyalty will astound you. One warning, though: Don't ever ask these folks a question if you don't really want to hear the answer. Sagittarians aren't known for their ability to lie. They'd much rather tell the truth, regardless of the consequences -- because that way, at least they can be sure that you know exactly who they are. So while they can get along with just about anyone, Sagittarians are most drawn to the other fire signs, who also live by the motto, 'What you see is truly what you get.' No games. ** Your Starcast for November 21 to December 20 November 21: Sun enters Sagittarius You'll feel restless as the Sun travels though this nomadic fire sign! Use the energy and enthusiasm of Sagittarius to break out of old routines. And since you're likely to be in a questioning mode (the Archer is known for being quite philosophical), ask yourself some of the bigger questions about the meaning of life, and what your purpose in it is all about. You will receive some interesting answers. It's time to be inspired -- and inspiring! November 23: Venus squares Jupiter Are you just friends? Or, are you closer? Jupiter expands the Venus desire for pleasure, but this is also a classic aspect for feeling misunderstood. Values (Venus) and beliefs (Jupiter) may not be on speaking terms. The world view of Jupiter in social friendship-oriented Aquarius challenges the Venus-in-Scorpio tendency to not only want to keep everything private, but also to connect intimately. November 24: Sun sextiles Saturn The outgoing Sagittarius Sun receives plenty of help from Saturn in Libra. Since fairness is the top value for Libra -- and since Saturn is the rule-maker -- if you come across as a person who is honest, ethical and fair, you will win over those who will help you succeed. November 25: Venus trines Uranus This is a great aspect to break out of your old day-to-day routine and do something new and different! Uranus is a planet of liberation, so following along with everybody else does not interest this planet at all! Be inventive, be original, and you will meet interesting people -- and who knows, one of them may turn out to be the great love of your life! Today, take a risk. Be bold! November 26: Venus squares Neptune Watch out for Cupid's arrow missing the mark. You may be swept off your feet and fall in love with someone who, if you were in your right mind, you would never even consider. Venus in uber-intense Scorpio meets spiritual and idealistic Neptune, and the tendency is to have difficulty determining the difference between fantasy and reality. If you haven't read Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' now is a good time to gift yourself with this masterpiece. December 1: Uranus turns direct Last July 1 when Uranus turned retrograde, revolution was in the air. People and countries wanted more independence. During these last several months, you have likely craved changes in your life that you are now ready to take to a new level. Yet, just when you think you know what's going on and what direction you want to go, something happens to make sure you're staying awake. Since this is a time of great change, your flexibility and comfort with the concept of change will help you utilize this dynamic energy. This is not a time to know where everything is headed -- there's no way to know right now. Your job is to stay alert! We live in a changing world, and now is the time for you to change along with it. December 1: Venus enters Sagittarius When the relationship planet enters the sign of travel, you will feel restless! Everybody needs a bit of room to move and breathe, so it's time to get out of your everyday routine and explore the world -- even if it's the just new local ethnic restaurant! Single? Sign up for a foreign language class or join a local hiking group. Already partnered-up? Use this nomadic energy and travel with your sweetie, and you'll receive great benefits from this transit! December 2: Full Moon in Gemini The emotional full Moon in information-focused Gemini is sure to bring plenty of news! Whether it's captivating headlines about global and national events, or attention-grabbing information about people in your personal life, it seems like everybody has something to report! Because of Uranus' change in direction yesterday, expect surprises and unexpected events to shake you out of your comfort zone. Flexibility helps, so you'll be less frazzled if you know how to ride the waves of change. This full Moon will most affect those born November 30-December 4, February 27-March 3, May 30-June 3 and September 1-5. December 7: Mercury conjuncts Pluto and squares Saturn This is a day of mixed messages as Mercury communicates with the current Saturn/Pluto square. While the conjunction with Pluto adds plenty of intensity to your discussions, the square with serious Saturn demands that you get your facts right. You are challenged to use the best that Mercury's placement in pragmatic Capricorn has to offer without crossing the line into cynicism. December 10: Sun trines Mars The Sun in enthusiastic Sagittarius is given a big energy boost and lots of support with this supportive trine from Mars in bold Leo. Although Mars is moving slowly while getting ready for its retrograde later this month, right now the red planet is strong. Make the most of this accommodating and energetic climate by reaching out to people who can help you. Look for courageous and creative types, for they have that magical ability to inspire you and others. December 16: New Moon in Sagittarius Do you have a vision of what you want in your life? Are you aiming for something and taking the necessary steps to further yourself -- not only in your day-to-day environment, but also in the larger scope of your life's journey? The symbol for Sagittarius is a fitting one for this new Moon cycle: a centaur that shoots his arrow toward the stars, then retrieves it when it lands -- only to take aim once again. This fire sign stimulates enthusiasm and optimism, but it is also associated with movement, travel and the desire to gain knowledge. Use this new cycle to become clear about your future. Don't worry about the details right now. Just get the big picture so you have something to aim for. This new Moon will most affect those born December 14-18, March 13-17, June 13-17 and September 15-19. December 20: Mars turns retrograde Mars retrogrades for about 80 days every couple of years. This time Mars retrogrades in Leo, the sign of leadership, and will not turn direct until March 10. Pace yourself. Retrace your steps and make the most of this period, and have a good attitude about the necessity and helpfulness of this cycle! This is a time to strategize rather than to push your projects and plans forward. Think of it this way: You are getting a second chance to straighten out the kinks in your plans, and to reconnect with people who will be helpful to you in the future. You may find that projects that were on a fast track are now stalled or delayed. Don't sweat this, and don't bang your head against a door that won't open, because there's a reason when energy is held back. If you know your chart, look at the house Mars is traveling through for much more information. Enjoy the Sun's transit through Sagittarius! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Astrolesson: The Power of Pluto Think of Pluto as the 'Head Honcho' planet -- the one in charge. Your relationships (Venus), how you go about getting what you want (Mars), and even the rules by which you live your life (Saturn) -- as well as the other planets -- are all ultimately influenced and shaped by Pluto. From 1995 until 2008, Pluto transited through Sagittarius, bringing attention, intensity and obsessions to this fire sign's themes: beliefs, religions, morals, ethics, travel and laws. Let's take a look at how Pluto has dominated our world to get an idea of the way it wields such powerful influence. Pluto's recent entrance into achievement-oriented Capricorn brings brand-new obsessions, along with the need to transform all things Capricorn. This is the sign of the Builder, which espouses the idea that how you build is just as important as what you build. (Capricorn President Nixon learned that lesson the hard way!) Watch for themes of responsibility and self-reliance to be major factors in the years ahead, as well as a need to overhaul and rehab outmoded and bankrupt systems. Look to where Pluto is transiting in your own birth chart to get a better handle on what you will be renovating, tearing down and rebuilding in the years ahead. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Remember its not just adults that are in hardship, its also the children. May we all be blessed with happiness, love, warmth, health, and a full belly. Date Posted: 09:38:22 10/24/09 Sat Yes, Jack O'Lanterns keep away evil spirits that may linger around or in the home. Jack O'Lanterns have always been used to keep away evil spirits around Halloween. There is an old Irish story about a man named "Stingy" Jack. Stingy Jack invited the devil for a drink, so he convinced the devil to turn himself in a coin so that Jack could purchase their drinks, since Jack was too cheap and didn't want to pay for his drink, once the devil changed himself into a coin, jack decided to keep the money and put it into his pocket next to a silver cross which would prevent the devil from changing back to his orginal form. But eventually,Jack freed the devil under certain conditions and that was the devil could not bother Jack for one year and if Jack should die within that year then the devil could not claim his soul. The next year came and Jack once again tricked the devil into climbing up a tree to pick a piece of fruit. While up in the tree Jack carved a sign of the cross into the tree so that the devil could not come down until the devil promised Jack not to bother him for 10 more years. Well soon after this took place Jack died and as legends go...God would not allow such a person like Jack into heaven. The devil, still very upset by the tricks jack played on him and keeping his promised by not claiming Jack's soul, would not allow Jack into hell. Jack was sent off into the dark with only a burning coal to light his way. Jack put the coal into a carved out turnip and has been walking the Earth ever since. Remember in Ireland & Scotland the people there used turnips and potatoes to make scary faces- Jack O'Lanterns during the Samhain season. Pumpkins are native to here in the United States so when settlers came here and discovered that a pumpkin could be carved out...that's how we here still have the tradition of craving pumpkins and making Jack O'Lanterns here today. Date Posted: 10:53:13 10/23/09 Fri ** All about Scorpio Of all that's ever been written about Scorpio over the years, much of it -- no, most of it -- has been unfair, negative and worded so that those born under this Sun sign sound downright intimidating. It's as if simply getting to know them requires superhuman courage and a fully armed bodyguard. Well, we're about to put an end to all that nonsense. It's true that Scorpios are not for the faint of heart. They're not shallow, they won't be manipulated and they will never, ever 'settle' for less than what they really want. In the Scorpio mind, 'settling' equates with giving up -- and that's something else they'd never, ever do. Scorpios won't stop working toward a goal until they're convinced that it's impossible -- which takes some doing. Even when they're not on a mission, Scorpios are still undoubtedly sniffing out clues. They're born detectives who are always on duty, analysts who never stop digging for answers, and investigators who are perpetually in search of information. A mystery is an invitation to these folks; what's below the surface is simply irresistible. And speaking of irresistible, if you're attracted to a Scorpio and vice versa, whether it's been 24 years or 24 hours, rest assured that they'll never cease to amaze, astound and startle you. Just when you think you've got them all figured out (although you likely stopped laboring under that illusion shortly after you two met), they'll say or do something that will cause you to find them even more fascinating. They're loyal to a fault -- but maybe just a bit too jealous at times, so don't play games with that emotion -- and perfectly willing to fire walk for you. And whether or not you opt to make the relationship legal, 'until death do us part' will always apply. Their love will literally last forever. ** Your Starcast for October 22 to November 20 Your feelings and desires deepen as the Sun enters Scorpio on October 22. Then, the trine between information-focused Mercury and spiritual Neptune on October 24 gives you plenty of inspiration. Mercury's entrance into Scorpio on October 28 provides you with a laser-like ability to focus. But watch out that you don't get in your own way when the Sun squares Mars on October 29. Saturn enters Libra, also on October 29, marking a major transition when your attention turns to your relationship-life and how people get along. Finally, a message about the benefits of civility! But when Mercury squares Mars on November 1, argumentativeness is in the air. An emotional Taurus full Moon on November 2 highlights your values and finances. Neptune turns direct on November 4 when keeping the big picture in mind helps you make good decisions. As Venus enters Scorpio on November 7, you want to connect deeply with those you love. The Sun squares expansive Jupiter on November 10, when misunderstandings can occur. Then you receive support when the Sun trines independent Uranus on November 14. Keep an eye on the Sun as it squares Neptune on November 15 though, when everything may not be as it seems! Saturn squares Pluto on November 15. Pay attention because this aspect is a game-changer! Mercury's entrance into outspoken Sagittarius brings information you may -- or may not -- want to hear! Make a strong investment in your life with the new Moon in passionate Scorpio on November 16. Then you'll need to straighten out some relationship entanglements as Venus, the love planet, squares Mars on November 19. October 22: Sun enters Scorpio Life becomes more intense as the Sun leaves fair-mined Libra and enters the deep waters of Scorpio. Over the next four weeks, you won't feel lukewarm about anything. This is a great time to invest your heart and soul in something that matters to you. Plus, the resourcefulness and determination of this sign gives you the stamina to further yourself and your goals. Use the power of this transit to follow your passion, whether you decide to go back to school, find your soul mate or run for public office! October 24: Mercury trines Neptune This trine between information-focused Mercury and spiritual Neptune is one of the most creative, imaginative and even psychic combinations among our planets. If you have a dream that has been close to your heart but that you've been reluctant to pursue, this is the time to let your imagination soar. With Jupiter still close by Neptune, your enthusiasm gives you that extra spark. Fan it into a flame! October 28: Mercury enters Scorpio With Mercury in a sign that loves to plumb the depths, this makes this a great transit to get to the bottom of anything. Like a determined private detective, you'll stop at nothing until you learn whatever it is you want to find out. Whether you need to finish writing an essay for school, find a great daycare center for your child, or create the perfect resume to land the perfect job, you have the ability and laser-like intensity to stay with your project until the very end. Just watch out for a tendency to obsess. If you find your mind looping around the same theme too many times, get off that merry-go-round and get some cotton candy instead. Even great minds need a break! October 29: Sun squares Mars This is an aspect when people tend to work at cross-purposes. Although you are likely to express yourself with a great deal of passion, you also have a tendency to be extra concerned with getting your way. Mars heats up any planet it comes in contact with, and you can easily get off track by approaching people the wrong way. Instead of pushing people to do something they don't want to do, take this formidable energy and pour it into achieving your own goals. October 29: Saturn enters Libra Saturn has been transiting through work-focused, health conscious Virgo for two-and-a-half years. It's a big deal when this serious planet enters a new sign. Hopefully you've applied yourself during this Virgo time and have become healthier in body, mind and spirit, and streamlined your day-to-day activities. As Saturn shifts its focus from Virgo work to social Libra, your attention turns to relationships. Whether you're married, seriously committed or single, you're prompted to take your relationships more seriously. You can expect fireworks when information-collector Mercury in emotionally intense Scorpio squares Mars in respect-driven Leo. This in an argumentative aspect that shows just how eager people are to jump into the fray. Everybody has their sensitive spots, and with this feisty aspect you may feel tempted to sting with your words. If you can take inventory of yourself rather than focusing on other people's issues, you'll be miles ahead of everyone else this week. November 2: Full Moon in Taurus You will want to keep your wits about you with a financial full Moon taking place as Neptune changes direction. Don't be in the dark about your money! There are areas of your life where it makes sense to be more on top of where your money is going. During this emotional high tide full Moon, step back and go through your papers. If something doesn't make sense, use the current Mercury in Scorpio to play detective. You may need to address areas of disagreement about how money is handled. Although conversations can get a bit feisty with warrior Mars weighing in with a square, make tangible, practical investments in your life that make you feel content and secure. This full Moon will most affect those born October 31-November 4, January 28-February 1, April 29-May 3 and August 1-5. November 4: Neptune turns direct Neptune retrogrades once a year. This year, this mystical planet has been retrograde since May 28. A planet that rules spirituality, inspiration and idealism, there is little that is logical or materially sensible about this Neptune. Because of this, you may need to bat through the cotton balls of confusion in areas of your life where you need your mind to be at its sharpest. Neptune's placement in Aquarius since 1998 has helped all of us in our quest for freedom, contentment and a more peaceful life. Now as Neptune turns direct, your hopes and goals get forward momentum. What's your dream? Examine the house where transiting Neptune is currently for greater insight. You have learned a lot over these last several months. Now it's time to use your knowledge and incorporate everything you know. As you are focusing on your personal plans, keep the big-picture view to help yourself make good decisions. November 7: Venus enters Scorpio As Venus leaves social Libra and enters the deep waters of passionate Scorpio, light, casual conversation just won't do it for you. Instead you want to explore how deep you can go with your partner. What makes them tick? How do they really feel about you? Are they soul mate material? All of these questions! When the planet of love transits through this intense sign, you will feel like nothing less than a profound connection will do. It's time to leave the commitment-phobic people behind. If you are single and want to meet the love of your life, attend events where people are passionate about what they are doing. November 10: Sun squares Jupiter November 14: Sun trines Uranus November 15: Sun squares Neptune The Sun in desire-driven Scorpio in a square to Jupiter in Aquarius, an air sign, challenges you to be extra aware of your strong emotions while also taking into account the social environment and the needs of others. Support comes from independent, innovative people who can help you make creative changes that enhance your life. Keep in mind that the Sun also squares Neptune. Figuring out what you want may feel confusing now. Do what you can to find a quite place to relax so that you can step away from any distractions. This will help you to devise a workable plan. November 15: Saturn squares Pluto Ever since Saturn's entrance into Libra on October 29, Saturn has been inching toward this square to powerful Pluto. This aspect is a game-changer and it will be around for a while with two more squares: one on January 31, 2010 and the next on August 21, 2010. So pace yourself and don't react quickly to anything! Saturn is your 'builder.' The way you structure your life and build upon the past to create your future -- well, that is Saturn's job. Pluto is the planet that gets rid of anything that doesn't work -- even if it does not seem that way to you at the time. Simply -- something's got to give. Get ahead of the curve by ditching anything that is not really relevant to your life at this point. We will have much more information about this important transit. So, stay tuned! November 15: Mercury enters Sagittarius Mercury in Sagittarius is often called the foot-in-mouth placement because of its outspoken nature. Expect plenty of statements followed by retractions and explanations! On the plus side, nothing beats this placement for enthusiasm and optimism. If you make a point to be tactful, you will get the most out of this fun transit. Because Sagittarius is a sign that represents any culture or country foreign to you, this is a great time to sign up for a language class or to expand your understanding of people's beliefs that are different from your own. November 16: New Moon in Scorpio What is your passion? Is there something you want so badly that you feel like if it doesn't come true you will have missed out on something important? Few signs are as intense, driven and powerful as Scorpio; now is your chance to put everything you've got into furthering your goals and dreams. This is a time of new beginnings. But to get what you want, you need to let go of whatever is not working and anything that has outlived its usefulness, whether that is an attitude or a life situation that no longer fits who you are today. Invest now in something you want to grow and become more important in your life. At the full Moon later this month, you'll have a chance to stand back and take a look at what you've accomplished! This new Moon will most affect those born November 14-18, February 11-15, May 13-17 and August 15-19. November 19: Venus squares Mars Venus, the relationship planet in uber-intense Scorpio, has privacy issues. Mars, the planet of action and desire, in bold showy Leo loves to be the center of attention. Sometimes the person you like is not the person you desire. It's just one of life's messy conundrums! This square can spice things up or cause problems. You'll see which one it is for you by the end of the week. Enjoy the Sun's transit through Scorpio! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ** Astrolesson: Saturn transits Since Saturn enters a new sign for the first time in two-and-a-half years during this solar period, we thought a review of Saturn transits would be extra helpful now. 'Responsibility' is a keyword and concept for Saturn: responsibility for thoughts, for emotions, for actions. Saturn is the planet that says we are responsible for our lives, responsible for all of our choices. No wonder the concept of limitation is also a key Saturn concept! Nowhere do we meet the limitations within ourselves and our world more than by where we are willing to acknowledge responsibility. "Not my fault, I couldn't help it, it wasn't me, there was nothing I could do..." Blaming others for limiting or holding us back is one of the most common reactions when dealing with Saturn, whether it's Saturn in our natal charts or working with Saturn through transits. To work successfully with Saturn, it helps to understand what Saturn is asking of us so that we know what opportunities are available. On September 2, 2007, Saturn entered Virgo, the sign of health, work and service, when your attention (and the world's) turned to these important themes. Addressing and taking responsibility for health -- yours and the world's -- has been a major focus. With Saturn's entrance into relationship-oriented Libra on October 29, how you treat and relate to people becomes extra important. 'Return to Civility' is Saturn-in-Libra's motto! And now you have two-and-a-half years to take responsibility for how you relate to others! [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 19:10:12 10/22/09 Thu ** All about Libra Libra is a smiling representative of the planet Venus -- the planet that represents love, beauty, harmony and cooperation. As such, those born under this sign are always ready to do what they can to smooth things over, make peace and bring warring factions together. It's not an easy job, but they're good at it -- really good. There's nothing a Libra wouldn't do to keep their loved ones happy. Better yet, they never barge through the door first, take the last piece of turkey on the plate or forget to write thank-you notes promptly. Call to mind all the Libras in your life, and you'll likely see that they're the people you think of first when you're planning a party -- or any social event, for that matter. Contrary to popular opinion, however, Libras don't drift peacefully from one 'balanced' situation to the next. If they did, they'd never learn their real job: restoring balance. These diplomatic folks aren't born into perfect equilibrium; rather, they're born knowing how to fix the scales when they're out of balance. That makes Libras experts at bringing peace and harmony to any situation. It's not an easy task, though, so remember that they're often more tired and drained than they let on. Being born with the ability to see both sides of an issue isn't always a gift -- especially when someone needs an opinion. If you are a Libra yourself, then, you need to realize (especially when it comes to relationships) that keeping the peace at all times just isn't always possible -- no matter how hard you try. Still, we can't do any better than you for a partner. You're devoted -- sometimes even to a fault -- and always willing to change your plans to suit what your beloved wants to do. Just be sure not to lose yourself (or your friends, who'll inevitably get tired of waiting around) in the process. Libras are so lovely to be around, however, they'll never be alone -- not if they don't want to be. Indeed, this is as social a sign as there is, extremely well loved by one and all! ** Your Starcast for September 22 to October 21 The Sun enters Libra marking the Fall Equinox. In this relationship-oriented sign, your focus naturally turns to the people you love. On September 23 when Mercury opposes Uranus, you may receive news that excites or unnerves you. Mercury turns direct on September 29 in a promising sextile to Mars (September 30 and October 4) giving extra energy to your ideas and conversations. October 3 brings a full Moon in Aries when heated conversations can inspire you or aggravate you! Mercury conjuncts Saturn on October 7 for the third time due to Mercury’s recent retrograde, giving you an opportunity to formalize and finalize your plans. Then, with Mercury’s entrance into fair-minded Libra on October 9, you stop analyzing and begin socializing! Just watch out for Mercury’s square to intense Pluto on October 10. The Sun trines Jupiter on the same day however, helping you to network successfully. Jupiter turns direct on October 12 when plans that have been on hold can get some forward movement. And Venus enters Libra on October 14 giving you plenty of chances to mend fences and smooth over any recent disagreements. When Mars enters dramatic Leo on October 16, you get plenty of help making a strong impression. This transit will last a while due to a Mars retrograde that begins in December. Then the new Moon in Libra on October 17 brings very nice social energy. Time to mingle! Mercury trines the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction with a trine to optimistic Jupiter on October 20 and will reach a trine to Neptune October 24 during the Scorpio solar period. September 22: Mercury conjuncts Saturn When the communication planet Mercury joins with authoritative Saturn in hard-working Virgo, you have the opportunity to implement a solid plan. Your thinking is crystal-clear and the only caveat here is you will have to make sure you’ve done your homework and crossed all of the proverbial t’s and dotted those i’s. This is not a time to wing it! September 22: Sun enters Libra The Fall Equinox is always marked by the Sun’s entrance into this peace-making sign. It's fitting that day and night are nearly equal at this time because Libra is represented by the scales of justice -- and it's always lovely when those scales are balanced! If you know a Libra, you know that fairness is a core value for them and that they pay extra attention to others rather than just being concerned with their own needs. During the Sun’s transit through Libra (which lasts until October 21), make sure you get out of the house. This is a great time to socialize! September 23: Mercury opposes Uranus That solid plan from yesterday needs a couple of changes today. Uranus reminds us to keep flexible in our thinking and not get tied to just one idea. Utilize new information to keep the dialog going. Someone may offer a fresh point of view, or you may receive a brilliant insight to work into your plans. Keep your eyes and ears open to take advantage of this transit! September 29: Mercury turns direct When Mercury turned retrograde on September 6 in fair-minded Libra, you began a process of review especially concerning the well-being of your relationships. When retrograde Mercury re-entered analytical Virgo, your mind went into overdrive but you also got your facts gathered and sorted. Now, as Mercury turns direct and all of your folders and ideas are in order, it's time to communicate the details of what you want from others and from the world. Be specific for the best results. September 30 and October 4: Mercury sextiles Mars Do you have a message you want to get out to the world? Perhaps you would like to sell an article or book. Or, maybe you simply wish people would listen more carefully to what you have to say. When communicative Mercury and active Mars conspire, conversations get louder, a bit more strident and even inspiring. In this opportunity aspect, you have plenty of chances to get people interested in your projects. Because Mercury is moving slowly, your words have greater staying power than they would otherwise. So whether you IM, text, tweet or use the old-fashioned phone, get your ideas out there and watch what happens! October 3: Full Moon in Aries When a full Moon occurs in bold Aries, watch out for heated conversations that can escalate, combative posturing that goes further than one would prefer, and people acting before they think. On the other hand, because everyone feels so strongly at this time, your courage can help you move mountains that not too long ago would have seemed daunting! The trick with this volatile energy is to put it toward a good cause because you will easily advocate for yourself and others. This full Moon will most affect those born October 2-6, December 31-January 4, March 30-April 3 and July 1-5. October 7: Mercury conjuncts Saturn Last August 17, Mercury traveled through analytical Virgo and joined serious Saturn. Then, while retrograde, Mercury hooked-up with Saturn again, giving you a chance to review, re-think and revise your plans and projects. Just when you think you’ll never move on to something new, Mercury conjuncts Saturn one final time in this series and you’re ready to put a period at the end of the sentence! Hopefully you have fact-checked and double-checked everything you need to know. If you’ve done your homework, a gold star is coming your way! October 9: Mercury enters Libra Are you ready to give your mind a rest? Enough with the analyzing! Mercury’s entrance into this peace-making sign turns your attention to your social relationships and partnerships. Now your focus is on cooperation and fairness, making this a great time to mend fences and reach out to those who could use a little encouragement. October 10: Sun trines Jupiter You may be feeling a sense of anticipation as all of those projects and ideas you have been investing in seem to be getting close to getting off the ground. Whenever optimistic Jupiter gets close to turning direct (October 12), it does so in a supportive trine to the Sun. Both the Sun and Jupiter in air signs bring an enormous amount of social energy, and you benefit from reaching out to friends, colleagues and organizations. Make use of this networking bonanza to help you move toward your goals. October 10: Mercury squares Pluto This week, communicative Mercury had its conversation with responsible Saturn, entered new territory with the entrance into social Libra, and now is confronted by powerful Pluto. Mercury in Libra will do almost anything to avoid a conflict. But that goal is impossible in this square. The challenge here is to maintain your composure and values while integrating an earthy nuts-and-bolts viewpoint. Pluto in Capricorn wants an overhaul of anything that is not working well and no matter how nice and well-meaning you are, if your ideas aren’t sensible, they won’t get past the powers-that-be. October 12: Jupiter turns direct Jupiter has been retrograde in group-minded Aquarius since June 15. Over these past months you have been forced to contend with delays in some of your projects and plans. For some of you, there have been significant lifestyle changes. Hopefully you used this time well and cut back on excesses. Now, as this big planet turns direct, it’s time to move forward with everything you have learned. October 14: Venus enters Libra Venus loves nothing better than being in her own sign: Libra. Even if you’re a loner by nature, this lovely transit (which will last until November 7) will lead you into the company of others. This is a perfect time to invite a good friend or sweetheart out to dinner, go to the movies or take a walk in the park or on the beach. If you have any conflict lately with someone, this is an ideal time to make-up. October 16: Mars enters Leo Please read carefully all of the information about Mars entering Leo. Because this warrior planet will turn retrograde in this bold fire sign on December 20, you’ll spend a long, long time thinking about, talking about and getting fired-up by the issues of respect and dignity; you will have an eagle-eye on how you and others are regarded. Treat others the way you would like to be treated and you’ll do fine with this transit. Leo is also a sign of leadership, and this is the time for you to take the lead. Mars, normally in a sign for approximately two months, will remain in Leo until June 7, 2010 -- and that is not a typo! October 17: New Moon in Libra Ah! A new Moon in the relationship sign gives both single and committed lovebirds plenty of new energy. With Libra’s ruling planet Venus having just entered its own sign, and Mars newly in bold Leo, make the most of this time. Have your eye on someone? It’s time to make your move! If you’re looking for your soul mate, please don’t stay home and order pizza. Unless the pizza delivery person turns out to be the love of your life, you’re seriously limiting your options. Married or in a committed relationship? Use this new Moon energy to introduce something fresh and exciting into your relationship. Plan a date night, see the latest movie or plan a trip. This new Moon will most affect those born October 16-20, January 13-17, April 12-16 and July 15-19. October 20: Mercury trines Jupiter Mercury entered social Libra earlier this month on October 9. Now, in this trine to expansive Jupiter, big ideas and stimulating conversation helps you to plan for your future. Watch for social opportunities that can bring you into contact with influential people. Your enthusiasm and optimism are sure to win them over. Enjoy the Sun's transit through Libra ** Astrolesson: A Healthy and Unhealthy Mars Since Mars enters Leo during this solar period (a sign where it will remain until June 7, 2010 because of its retrograde in this sign), I thought a solid review of this energetic planet would be helpful to you during these next months. First, Mars represents action, movement and desire. Whenever you get your plans in motion, you are activating the Mars in your birth chart. Whenever you desire something -- that’s your Mars. Have you heard of the phrase ‘fight or flight?’ That’s your Mars. When we act or express our upset feelings or anger in a clean, clear manner, we are directing our Mars energy in a healthy way. If you feel paralyzed or too freaked out to express yourself -- that’s bottled up energy and an unhealthy Mars. Passive aggressive behavior equals an unhealthy Mars. Have you ever felt your adrenals running full blast with heart palpitations to go along for the ride? Unhealthy Mars. Bully behavior? Ditto. When you stand up for needs, when you advocate for yourself or someone else, you are expressing Mars in a healthy way. When you joyfully act on your desires, that’s a beautiful, strong healthy Mars at work! The current Mars in bold, dramatic Leo, gives all of us a chance to stand tall and proud, to be strong and to treat ourselves and others with the utmost respect. Leo is a sign of leadership, and it’s time for you to demonstrate yours. Direct your Mars in a pro-active healthy way and you will have the energy to move mountains during this transit [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Subject: Another Sabbat is fast approaching... | |
Author: Anonymous [Edit] |
Date Posted: 15:35:22 10/16/09 Fri Samhain, the second oldest holiday which is currently over 6,000 years old. This sabbat is also known as: Halloween, All Hallows Eve, Hallowmass, Ancestor Night, Feast of the Dead, Old Hallowmas, as well as many other names. In tradition this sabbat is celebrated when the Sun is at 15 degrees Scorpio which is usually Nov.7. This year the Sun will be at 15 degree Scorpio Nov. 7 at 1:12 p.m. Yet others celebrate this sabbat on Halloween or on the full Moon in October, which this year is Oct. 26. Samhain marks the beginning of the Celtic New Year and today many Celtic Pagans observe Samhain as the renewal of the Wheel of the Year. For Pagans this is the night that the old God dies, returning to the land of the dead to await rebirth at Yule, and a time when the Crone Goddess would go into mourning for her lost consort, leaving her people in temporary darkness. Celtic Pagans believe that the veil between the world of the living and that of the dead is at its thinnest on this night, and the spirits of our loved ones walk the Earth visiting family and friends as well as joining in the ritual celebrations. This is why its been said that Samhain is the prime time for any type of spirit contact rituals. The feeding of the dead is a widespread practice, even today in modern Celtic Lands. In Scotland,Ireland, and other places food is always left out for these spirit travelers and candles are placed in windows to guide them a long their way, hence these were the origins of the modern Halloween customs of the Jack O' lantern and trick-or-treat. This is my favorite time of year. And yes, to this day I still love to carve pumpkins and bake the seeds from what is now my piece of art. This is the time to think about next year and what I want to happen or change. This is why the primary focus of this sabbat is all about transforamtion, divination, regeneration, honoring loved ones that have crossed over, honoring the harvest(since this is the third and final harvest of season) and preparing for the Winter season that awaits us. This is a great sabbat for the entire family to get involved with. A huge supper is made for the sabbat along with some goodies, pumkins can be picked at the pumpkin patches, then pumpkins can be craved and or decorated any way ones wants too, make homemade brooms, make center pieces and wreaths for doors, apple cider with cinnamon can be made to shake off the cold, costumes can be made or bought if one chooses to wear one, games are played-most famous is the apple dunking, ghost in the grave yard, dancing, playing tricks on one another and eating treats until bellies get upset, lighting the bonfire and the ritual begins. Cauldron, Jack O' Lantern, Balefire, Mask, besom/broom, the color orange and black are all symbolic to Samhain. Herbs and items used for Samhain are: oak leaves, acorns, apples, pumpkins, straw, sage, heather, mullein, and patchouli. Have a great & safe Samhain & enjoy the trick or treating of the season!
