Hello Smoking Gang,

I am over my cousin Maryann's house. She is a smoker and I've been thinking of starting. At least kind of sort of.

My parents separated last August and have now filed for divorce. My older sister and I were visiting my Dad and his new girlfriend last night. Dad's new girlfriend wasn't the reason for the separation/divorce since he just met her in January. I am very thankful for that as I don't think Mom could of handled it. Dad's new girlfriend is pretty cool and she's a smoker. My older sister has met her three times and told me she was cool but I was so pissed at Dad that I have been avoiding them both until last night.

We all went to dinner last night and she asked me and my sister if we smoked. We both said no but she put her cigarettes on the table and said help yourself if you want one. We looked at each other and then at Dad. Our father quickly spoke up and said they don't smoke. She nodded in understanding but then our father said something very strange. "At least not yet." I asked my older sister about it later and she was like maybe Dad figures were old enough to decide for ourselves if we want to smoke. Maybe, but I find it hard to believe since him and Mom were always against smoking.

My cousin is on her fourth cigarette tonight. I should really join her to cut down on the second hand smoke but she always smokes outside so I guess it's not too bad... lol. I want to start but my parents are Korean and very old fashioned. If I am going to start I need to do it soon while my cousin still lives at home. She's in college but will be transferring next year and will be living on campus.
