Subject: Here is my thought for another rule!!

Directors please listen.....if you are going to hold a pageant and allow both boys and girls....for petes sake DO NOT put the boys against the girls. So many times I see pageants do this and I don't think it is right. Especially when pm of girls spend anywhere from approximately 600-1500 for a pageant dress, 200 and up for cw, sportswear, swimwear and what ever else catagories happen and then top that off with hair pieces, hair and makeup, lashes, and tanning. Where as the pms of the boys don't have to shill out nearly as much money on a tux and cloths. I can go to our local formal shop or burlington coat and buy a tux or suit for 100. Swimwear is easy and cheap, maybe 30 max. I cant say that we pay more for lessons, because we don't and I'm not sure about photos, but I bet there is a little bit of a discount because no hair and make up are used to my knowledge. If so, thats fine. That just means we are even on that subject then. Please don't take this wrong....I love to see boys compete, I just don't think that they should be placed against a girl. Let the boys compete against boys. To many times I have sat back and watched and listened to the comments that judges have made. Especially older ladies and how they just can't get over the boys. I just don't think its fair. JMOP

I do think that girls pay more for there clothing but everthings else we pay the same for Tanning, Lessons, Pics, Pageant fee's, ect. Yes we do have a boys tanned for swimwear because it gets rid of those scars and scraps on their legs. If you don't let them compete together then atleast offer something worth us comming. It is not fair for us to come and pay the same fees as the girls and end up with a cheap satin crown. We want a nice crown, doesn't have to be a rhinestone girl crown but a nice king crown. There are tons of shops that offer them. The Crown Shop has a ton that are cool! Also if you offer money for girls then offer it for the boys. It doesn't have to be any where near the same it's the principle that we pay the same fee's. Boys rarely win against the girls it's the just the excitement of it. I think if a director at least trys to make is nice for the boys then there would be more to compete. We understand that there are more girls that comopete than boys but if a pageant has more than 3 boys there that is very good.

[> [> We are holding a boy grand supreme but this might be the last year as numbers are just not there to justify the title. Girls have at least 20 to compete against and the boys sometimes 3. -- Anonymous, 15:35:48 12/13/07 Thu [1]

[> [> [> I understand but I know that boys are now pulling out of pageants due to several reason. The main reasons are the harsh words spoke by girl's pageant moms and no system offers anything desecent for boys anymore. I know that we are pulling out after this year because of these things. -- Anonymous, 17:18:32 12/17/07 Mon [1]

[> We are doing our pageant with both boys and girls they will be judged seperately and awards will be given to both boys and girls in each event except the overall as we give one overall and this is given to the one person who has the highest score in the pageant. We are awarding boy crowns and King sashes and boy themed toys. Check us out naturalbeautiesofamerica.com -- Anonymous, 04:40:03 12/20/07 Thu [1]
