[> OPen set dance is coreographed (sp?) by teacher to "set" music, traditional set is with traditional steps pre-decided by who knows.. -- but they are all written down in TCRG's magic book., 05:04:37 09/17/08 Wed [1]

[> OK, so if it says 'set dance', dancer can't do a Traditional Set dance (ie St. Patrick's Day). Is this correct? -- OP, 06:11:01 09/17/08 Wed [1]

[> [> Correct, TCRG should be teaching him a set -- Occasionally with double age groups at a feis, trad sets will compete against sets but not really fair. IMHO, 07:21:32 09/17/08 Wed [1]

[> The younger age groups are doing a Traditional Set - St P's Day, Ace and Duece, etc. The older age groups are doing a non-traditional set dance that is choreo by their teachers. Up until pre-lim, you would do the traditiona set. Once in prelim, you do the non-traditional set. -- that's the way it was explained to me..., 08:16:55 09/17/08 Wed [1]
