We live in the southern US, so my guy lives most of the year in shorts, so that helps a lot.

Check Amazon.com for jeans. I just put in a search for 28x34 jeans, and several options came up.

My guy doesn't wear sweats, but he does wear track pants. Elastic or drawstring waists help a lot.

Worst comes to worst, buy for length. Take them to the local alterations place. We have about a dozen of them in the neighborhood strip malls - you might also. I'm always surprised that alterations are cheaper than I expect.
