My first rectal exam was at 16 years old. At the time my doctor was a former army doctor and he tended to be VERY thorough. I guess at 16 he thought I was developed enough to start getting rectal exams.

It was quite an experience, once that is fresh in my mind 35 years later, probabliy becuase at the time my father was coming in for my physical exams so I had my first prostate exam right in front of him. Rather than being embarrassing, to me it was sort of a rite of passage and I was glad that my father was there to see it.

It was embarrassing for me at first since our neighbor had to drive me to the doctor's office and be in the exam room with me during the exam. I was staying over the neighbor's house for a while until my mom got back from her business trip. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
