It is called the Miss International Scholarship Pageant, and it's been held for almost 40 years now. If the winner is American, she goes to Miss Maine. If she's Canadian, she goes to Miss New Brunswick. A few years ago, new directors took over. They are very inconsistent with the rules, and things are very unfair. For example, the girl who won was exempt from all rehearsals except the dress rehearsal because she lives 3 hours away. Two other girls live almost 2 hours away, but they were required to attend all rehearsals. Also, Americans had to each raise $100 for CMN, but the Canadians in the pageant did not have to raise money for any charity. Everything was very disorganized. The applications had to be done at the dress rehearsal, with no advance notice.

There are other International Festival pageants this weekend. Hopefully, we'll hear good things!
