The only issue is if the forums were open to the general public. Then all someone has to do is post an article from anywhere, and it opens one to being sued. There are ways to fight it, but basically, I can't be bover'd with that.

Boingboing.net has covered the issue pretty well - but not too many people are aware.

The internet chapter of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, a secret copyright treaty whose text Obama's administration refused to disclose due to "national security" concerns, has leaked. It's bad.

The thing is, gov'ts from around the world are all together on this. They're rapidly changing the rules while trying to make sure the general public doesn't know. I've discussed this issue with publishers, Internet experts, and no one is aware of what's happening.

Do a search on "copyright" over at boingboing.net. They have tons of articles on the many changes taking place.

And every country is doing the same thing. I'll say one thing for them, it's a very clever way to stop free speech. In Australia, they've been trying to make it illegal to even link to another site (not sure yet if they've gotten away with that one yet, but if they do, the U.S. and U.K. will be next in line).
