Subject: Brava! The storyteller, Jamie - he is perfectly cast in such a role! >>>
In reply to: celtgirl 's message, "Here's a wee glimpse of Jamie- it's only a snippet as it's part of a larger piece that isn't done yet, but hopefully it's whole enough in and of itself that it won't feel like being presented with a wall in a narrative pathway. :) >>>" on 14:42:17 02/19/10 Fri

What an art form. How beloved Jamie must have been, what a source of entertainment in such a bleak place. Jamie would be the one to know those classics well enough to share. And Cindy, how well you touched on the issue of memory. These days as I struggle to pull up some well-filed thought or phrase or word, it really IS like a fish in the water. You see it there, you know it exists and yet you can't quite grasp it. You must have been speaking directly to me in that paragraph.

I wonder what Jamie must have thought about Russia in those Soviet days. It must have been heartbreaking, especially since he knew those great poets and how they felt about their own country. Oh Rus, oh Rus, whither thou hurtle? (or wtte, I should look this up). Many thanks for giving us a tiny glimpse of Russia again, you know how I feel about the Russian people. Oh, and Pushkin! But please, Cindy, don't ever let Jamie fight in a duel. Although, you know, I think we could have a metaphorical discussion about Jamie and the duels he's faced in life, the things he's left for dead ...

  • Your Lordship, Jamie, very apprapo considering my day at work, sanctions are sure to follow for me as well. It is so lovely to hear your voice again. Cindy, thank you for sharing, I really needed a "spot of Jamie" today. A wee dram of Connamara Mist wouldn't be amiss either :) (NT) -- LadyDuBois, 17:04:58 02/19/10 Fri
