Subject: I think we'd all be much more healthy mentally and emotionally if we moved more with the rhythm of the planet and its seasons. I do try to pay attention and have small rituals to attend the changing of the seasons, it really helps to make one feel that time isn't just this non-stop flow over one's head too.
In reply to: Elaine 's message, "I agree with you, we have lost something as our culture has progressed. I think it would be better if, despite all our modern conveniences like furnaces and a/c, that we still followed the rhythm of the seasons, and that we purchased food grown locally (so, no peaches or tomatoes in November - 'tis okay, others survived before us without those!). I am trying to become a locavore, haven't quite managed it entirely but it's a fun process. And I do try to follow the rhythms that come with the tilting of the earth. I love the change of seasons; we should celebrate those changes by adding those little rituals that have an ageless significance. Hope I don't sound too sentimental for you." on 14:00:53 08/11/09 Tue
