Subject: Hopefully next time I'll have more than little snips and bits to share. I am deep in research mode right now though. Pat is calling my office space 'Little Russia'. On that note I have to recommend a book that just had me riveted last week- it's called 'Journey Into the Whirlwind' and I know all you ladies here could truly appreciate the book>>>>

It's written by Yevgenia Ginzburg and is the first part of her memoirs about her time spent in the labour camps at Kolyma. I was so frustrated that I didn't have the second book, it was so well written and just incredibly involving. I know it sounds depressing and parts of it actually made me feel miserable and achy, but mostly it was amazing what this woman did to survive a time that I can only imagine- there were times when she described things where I thought, in her shoes, I might have just laid down and died, because it would have been the far easier option. I think on Amazon and the book they've Westernized her name to Eugenia though.
