Some months back Jane was compiling music to honor EU and Mermaid. One of the pieces I sent her was called 'The Swan,' written and performed by a friend of ours from Glasgow, Catriona McKay. Just received word tonight that she has been nominated for Instrumentalist of the Year for the 2007 Scots Traditional Music Awards. Click Here.

Had to share this with you all. She's a wonderful, innovative musician and a warm and genuine person. Her greatest love is to play therapeutic harp for hospital patients.

She performs with another group, Fiddler's Bid, from the Shetlands, and I believe they plan to do a tour of N. America in 2008. When I learn more, I'll post about it at the Pub. Thanks for letting me interrupt regular programming for this little announcement. Back to the discussion!
