I must start by saying that I'm actually a pacifist, so this dream bothers me a lot. Thank goodness it doesn't occur nearly as much now as it once did.

In 1986 my dh was hit by a drunk driver. The dd's car crossed the median and hit my dh's car at an estimated 100 mph. For 3 days I was told dh would not survive, but thankfully he did. However, the dd did die of massive internal injuries. Somehow, I felt cheated that he died because subconsciously I must have wanted to kill him myself. I started dreaming of tying him up to a tree, one of the maples in my front yard in fact, and then very calmly blowing his head off with a shotgun. That's the only repeated dream I've ever had.
