Well my theory on this is that we create what we get in a way, sometimes. For example, if we choose to be really wild, and choose the people who are wild and mean to run with, we certainly get all that we set ourself up for. On the pure physical level. Psychologically, in the same case, we can come around to sensibility, walk away from the wild mean people, find another place to hang out, different natured people to hang with, and we can avoid the consequences we may have encountered otherwise. But if we never get out of the "state of mind" that may have been created during the wild times, we can still create trouble for ourself. So, all that said, it can be a state of mind, we can blame ourself when bad things come our way because of "where we were at one time", or we can get up, dust ourself off, and go forward, and create new Charma, good positive Charma. Just because one has done something bad in thier lives does not mean they are forever cursed for it,,,,, unless of course it is some disease they have picked up from thier actions, or something along that line. Will I be more prone for a disease like lung cancer becasue I smoked? Probably. But when I quit I took extra steps to detox, did a lot of breathing stuff, and lung herbs to clean my lungs and cleanse my system. I have attempted to change my future by the use of herbs, and create a new Charma on my health. This is one example of my ideas on Charma.

In Pamela's case, she made a decision to marry a man who had been tied to the IRA, thus, the consequences will be a part of that decision. True, Casey attempted to get out of it, but I don't think he could ever really get completely away from it, as his ties from his past are all still there it seems. He would have to completely remove himself from Ireland to not be drawn back into it, as they were at the first of the book. Even then, his Charma, and hers, put them back into a similar scene.

  • Chapter 51-- When I read I always expect that the main character will be stronger than the rest, perhaps a bit wiser,, or at least willing to think and make decisions, and be able to shield the rest of the characters. -- bug, 07:28:43 10/03/07 Wed
