Subject: 66.1) Good point, Jane - they do seem to be cut from the same cloth. I think Casey wishes so much to protect Pamela from harm, and yet he doesn't want to totally control her, so he's sort of walking a tightrope. As for Pamela, I figure she's just so doggone bullheaded that she's not going to change, I've given up all hope! I think strong wills are more a threat to a relationship than a blessing. Both people are willing to take enormous risks without consulting the other, and eventually the unpredictable nature of their behaviors might prove to be just too much to bear. Even though they love each other with a rare intensity, I think that love could be permanently harmed by the persistent fear that at any given time you might lose your spouse to violence.

  • 66.2) I think Constable Fred looked at Casey and thought he saw Brian in the flesh. That would be pretty startling. Yes, it provided a sense of hope, but I'll be honest; whenever a 'good' character is introduced, I become fearful that s/he will be made a victim. And yep, I'm not 100% clear on why Bright's popped up. (NT) -- Elaine, 18:54:25 10/15/07 Mon
