Another thing that I found interesting is that some discourse organising words are used to signal "the larger text-patterns the author has chosen, and build up expectations concerning the shape of the whole discoure" (page 76). Then, if the reader does not know how to handle those words, he/she might have problems in decoding the text "as efficiently... as possible to the author's designs". As you can see, we need to be precautious during the process of teaching, don't we?
