` Smile returning to light up facial features he sends a glance in the direction of the mare's stall as a sound is heard from that direction. Shaking his head he returns attention to grooming his horse, until it is again diverted by the feeling of something tugging at the back of his shirt. Looking over his shoulder at the stallion he laughs lightly, setting the brush aside and leaving his horses side for a moment to step to the stall. Making sure tone is comfortingly low, he does not extend his hand...still unsure as to the steed's actions. `

"Hey now, don't do that. It's a bad habit ya know. What's the matter? Want to go visit your friend again?"

` A thought suddenly coming to mind his eyes drift to the back paddocks. `

"If you don't give me any trouble I'll let you--and your friend if she'll let me anywhere near her--out into a couple of paddocks. Last I saw there was a couple of empty one's side-by-side just out back."

` Of course he had been told countless times that horses couldn't understand words...but he had never truely believed that. And the amount of times he had gotten surprising results from mearly speaking to a horse, almost like it was human, only proved, at least to him, that horses did understand human words. `
