Since the 1920's american popular music has become independent. During the jazz became one of the first types of music that has been developed by and for americans. Musicians in America continued to push the envelope. In the 1950's we saw the birth of Rock "n" Roll. Chuck berry become an icon along with Little Richard and of course Elvis. It was around this time that music became a sexual device used to grasp the attention of the audience. We also saw many new dance forms during this era including the "twist". There was the hips of Elvis as well. A white man Dancing like a black one. it was considered blasphomy but by pushing the envelope he was able to give birth to new style of music. In feburary of 1964 the Beattle came to America, starting the era known as the British invasion. This is where we see a major emotional change. There were fans crying and fighting just to see or to hear their favorites play. In the late 60's we see another change during the summer of love. we start to see how our music c an be influenced by society, economics, and plotics. or vica versa .
