The New Brightening - Click for Voice

The New Brightening

Cool-river spirit,
rips, curls and bends to a smile,
while rapids run long
past a whisper of dusk, and
Gaea�s husky voice

lingers past dawning,
stretching like a cat across
the early bright. So
sweet the calling of the sun,
her sentinels beg first blush,

dappled kisses of
gold, fall through the yawning clouds,
their secrets gently
waken her sacred places,
mountains weep in her honour

and valleys roll, with
the misty amber breath of
the new brightening.
A kindling sparks its path
around her swollen body,

shimmers back, to the
river, as she ebbs and flows
her sultry cresting,
scintillating a thousand
warm tongues lapping at her shore
