Every vein has some venom in it

Your's were twisted knots of poison,
A truth that left me with a handful of tears
While my pockets lay empty and hollow

I never knew salt could sting so badly,
or that it could lay so heavy upon my cheeks

I feel it now, for the first time,
The shrieking of a soul that rips itself from lies,
And the burning sensation of a death

My pockets full now, of ashes and fire,
Phoenix or not, I will find my rebirth
