"O Ministério da Educação prepara a próxima licitação dos livros didáticos, que deve ocorrer em dezembro, pedindo a nova ortografia. "Esse edital, para os livros que serão usados em 2009, deve ser fechado com as novas regras", afirma o assessor especial do MEC, Carlos Alberto Xavier.

É pela sala de aula que a mudança deve mesmo começar, afirma o embaixador Lauro Moreira, representante brasileiro na CPLP (Comunidade de Países de Língua Portuguesa). "Não tenho dúvida de que, quando a nova ortografia chegar às escolas, toda a sociedade se adequará. Levará um tempo para que as pessoas se acostumem com a nova grafia, como ocorreu com a reforma ortográfica de 1971, mas ela entrará em vigor aos poucos."
