embalmed,
dressed,
laid with care.

Glinting eyes. Still.
Lips curved. Still.
Clasped hands. Still.

Outstretched arms, stiffened;
huddled joys, hidden cries
hardened
and sealed, inside the frame.

Turning over pages
in a museum of mummified moments, <
mind races backward.
