Iam a big fan of philippino beauties.You wont believe this but Charlene(Miss philippines 1994) is my all time fav candidate at number 3!!The first place goes to ash (miss world 1994)and the second to Versuka!!So it just goes to show that i have NOTHIn against Philippines beauty godesses.In 1999 Miriam was my fav. for the crown ,more than gul i wanted miriam to win.But those were the golden days when we didnt have these msg boards.Last year too i directly saw the pageant and had never seen the contestants and when i sawNina in the opening number i was sure that she is in the 10! i was surprised that she didnt make the cut!But had i logged on to thesemsg boards last year things could have been diff!

But now things are diff.You know there is a saying that Familiarity breeds contempt.That is if you happen to c a person,no matter how stunning, over and over again..get to know him/her more and more you become less excited about him/her.Same is the case with zora.Zora is a stunning beauty ..i have nuthing against her.If i had seen Zora directly in the miss Universe pageant she could have become my Fav..But u all know what these msg boards have done now!!

In my last post all of u came down heavily on me ,making baseless accusations and then using my name and posting diff posts.I just wanna say that this is just a beauty pageant..fer it requires us to be a world citizen..Coz the miss universe will not belong to any specific country she will be an ambasador of goodwill.So i hope that the sportsman spirit is alive in us!
Iam a HARDCORE fan of celina..i really am crazy about her! But i know that there are better candidates than her this time!And so right from the begining i have been stating that Miss south Africa will Win miss universe!and believe me i even voted for miss nigeria as miss photogenic in the miss universe site..This is what i call sportsman spirit

Ok let me put this in simpler words...I love pizzas a lot.. Pizzas are the best thing in the world and i am crazy about them..But if i keep on eating pizza every meal iam sure ill get borred of it..But We all know thats not fair for pizzas..coz they deserve royal treatment! :) Aha iknow its the poorest joke ever but it had a msg deep within.

Miss USA will make history - by becoming only the fourth Miss USA to fail to make the semifinalists. She has to learn how to stand up straight. And her hair is droopy. Not to mention the way that she tripped across the stage the other night.

Facts to consider in picking the winners. -- Beauty School Drop Out, 00:29:09 05/09/01 Wed
Fact: USA looks better in swimsuit than Puerto Rico. Now I didn't say her walk or her stance I said over all body. The attack is that she is too buff. Get real it's called toned and sure fire either won swimsuit or one of the top 3 scores.

Fact: In both presentation categorys the rules state for the judges too look at the natural beauty of the contestant. India is so slicked up in swimsuit she looks silly! This is not natural. She's got a TON of makeup on. Venezuela is exactly the same. Barely 18 trying to come across as 25. Not natural

Fact: It would be an obvious fix to keep USA out by merely stumbling when Miriam actually fell in 99. She was not faulted so this should be the same for kandace. The photo of USA in Gown is simply breathtaking. To equate she should get faulted for 4 stumbles is ridiculous. If anything it showed poise. Again her overall look was Grace Kelly perfection!

Fact: Puerto Rico has been the greatest host! However, Miss Denise is not the best in swimsuit or gown. Fact: rather large hips like last years Miss PR. Also loads on the makeup and coloring washes out her looks. Awesome smile though but lacks in overall quality for the crown.

Fact: Greece is quite seductive looking but in no way the winner. The winner will be able to effectively speak before large crowds and the media. She does not do this well at all.

Fact: Venezuela is not at all the deffinition of natural beauty! Her comments about India will be her down fall and if any over-hyped candidate could not show up in Semis it is this one. She will not win!

Fact: Korea is going to be the cats meow on finals night! This look is so different from previous winners it is time to go with it and possibly give her the crown.

Fact: Philippines has displayed a lot of confidence. In a field of gorgeous bodies she just misses the call. Perhaps Interview could give her a ticket to top ten but to be honest I doubt it. Her fans are great. If she does win she needs to go to each of thier homes and let them try on the crown. They are soooo devoted I like that! Just don't go overboard ok?

Fact: Mexico sizzles on stage. Fizzles off stage. Needs to tone it down. Sometimes less is more.

Fact: Nigeria is not all that. Skinny, and black and the usual standout African type woman. It's time to look for another face instead of this type. She's had a good run though and is still in it. Will not win!

Fact: Canada needs to get to a doctor and treated for obvious anorexia. She has lost so much weight since the fashion show it's awful.

Fact: Sweden is truly a doll and could be the moral winner by the end of the evening if she is granted a ticket into semi's.

Fact: When it is all said and done and the campaigning is called off USA, Korea, Greece, Puerto Rico, Spain, and Antigua will be the standouts. They will have earned it. The crown will be on the head of either USA, Korea, or Antigua. I'm gonna say Antigua which would be acceptable in Puerto Rico. As well as Korea. USA has been sabotaged by the PR press from the beginning so her winning may start a damn riot which is petty but too much like Mexico City not to admit that it would happen. Morally Kandace should be the winner, but if she is not crowned then the best bet is to give it to some other candidate from an obscure nation. This being Antigua or Korea. Remember in the end the winner will be the one who can interview and speak effectively. The edge would go to Antigua over Korea. However of the three really USA would top them both.

These are the facts weather you like them or not. The fun part of this pageant has really gone down the hill. The campaigning and backbiting has ruined this all. The attitudes and willingness to print negative comments about certain candidates to destroy their chances is too petty as well. Perhaps it is time to make some major changes.

Eva Ekvall, isn't pretty, she's just exotic and photogenic.
Miss Mexico is prettier and I saw her in TV, OH MY GOD she's so beautiful. Even Bolivia and Panama impressed me more than Venezuela. And of course the natural beauty and freah charismatic and sweet girl Denise Quinones Miss Puerto Rico.
It's a tough year but for Venezuela I only expect her in the top 10 nothing else... I think there are other 8 girls MUCH Better then Eva(without including the listed above) like:

So it's Hard to Venezuela... But I don't have a doubt she'll do the top 10, but who knows... she's just 17... who knows if she doesn't impress at the interview...

Parece que la competencia para Venezuela y Puerto Rico es mucho mas fuerte que hemos anticipado anteriormente. De verdad que las diferencias en puntuaci�n son y ser�n minimales. Si creo que podemos decir que Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Colombia, India, Grecia, Estados Unidos y Espa�a estar�n entre las diez semifinalistas. Muy probablemente Mexico tambien. Ya no estoy muy seguro de la chance de Canda y de Suecia, pero ambas candidatas siguen ser candidatas muyyyyy fuertes para el top-10. La competencia que viene de Colombia, India, Grecia y Espa�a es realmente mucho mas fuerte para poder decir ahora quienes estar�n en el top-6 y el top-3. Mucho �xito a todas!

Comentan que Denise es la candidata mas odiada entre las mismas delegadas!

Y no es para menos, si esta ya casi con la corona encima.
Se dice que Denise es TAN y TAN fuerte candidata que entre las candidatas existe cierto enojo pues ademas se encuentran en el pa�s de ella, Puerto Rico. Dicen que en las practicas mientras simulan que escogen un Top 10, cuando en el primer escogido de a mentiras mencionaban algunas candidatas las otras hacian chistes, les aplaudian y les gritaban cosas en forma de broma; pero cuando Denise, Puerto Rico, fue mencionada todas se cayaron y comenzaron a murmurar, y la broma se torn� en envidia...
Se comenta que las candidatas no le estan dando tanto apoyo a ella, pues dicen que ella tiene mucho y como la competencia esta tan re�ida, ya comenzo la pelea...
Sin embargo, comentan que con quien Denise se siente mas tranquila es con Costa Rica, Paola, con quien puede hablar a gusto...

Ya se comienza a definir mas o menos quienes van a ser esas Top 3, siempre son las que las mismas candidatas le ponen el ojo y se dan cuenta.
Denise ya esta comenzando a recibir rechazo por su tan excelente participaci�n en todos los eventos, quizas se pusieron asi por que Denise, naturalmente es la que m�s aplauses recibe siempre.

All I have read is how Miss USA is going to have a hard time making top ten because of a few stumbles she made. Yet thinking the worst I go and take a look at a picture of her in the evening gown competition and she looks flawless. Are people this petty that they will try anything in order to get rid of USA out of top ten? I had at least 40 friends who took the time to view all of the evening gowns and candidates and each one put Kandace in either 1,2,or 3. I didn't tell them about the slips because of the dress. When I told them that all the hispanic press was predicting she will not make top ten because of these slips each one mentioned Miss Philippines Miriam Q in 99 actually falling. She used that fall to take her all the way to 1st runner up. I'm convinced this thing is being controled by a bias press who have it in thier minds too eliminate those that would be a true challenge over the latina's. I still can't get past the fact that Miss USA looks absolutely stunning in evening gown yet they are posting she is out. I don't believe those judges will be that petty. As mentioned before, why would Miriam be applauded and Kandace faulted. Kandace didn't even fall down. She stumbled because of the shoes locking on the dress. yet she held her head up high. Now that is poise. I'm positive she did well in swimsuit and of coarse interviews are a breeze for her. I think the Anti-Miss USA sabotage is pathetic. It's cruel what some will do for a lousy beauty crown. I hope USA makes it to top ten and nails it on finals night. What she has been through by the dominating press has been very cruel. They should be ashamed of themselves. I adore Miss Philippines and I hope she makes it too along with Greece and Puerto Rico. Venezuela is not at all an attractive teenager. Hate the disco ball type gown. Well good luck to all but especially to Kandace. They have dealt her a raw deal. Miriam gets praised for actually falling and Kandace gets attacked. How low is that?

Evening Gown Favorites

We all have to realize that it is not the favorite girl that makes the evening gown beautiful; it is the design and the way the girl moves with the gown that makes gown special.

I have downloaded all the gowns and carefully looked and examined all of them and choose the best looking by design shown below. I also choose only ten gowns in order based from highest to lowest. Note that the gowns chosen are based on individuality and design.

Aruba, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Greece, Panama, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Trinidad & Tobago, USA, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Peru, Mexico, Guatemala, Curacao, Chile.

First. 1. Sweden
Her shape is outlines perfectly in this gown and the colour is perfectly matched with her skin tone. The highlight of the gown is the bottom portion with enough flare and spunky-ness. Best choice here.

Second. 2. Colombia
This gown takes the shape of this girl and aligns it perfectly with the crystal ocean. Her height better shows off the gown to create that simple yet spunky look. She is hot with spice on the side. lol.

Third. 3. Zimbabwe
What the hell! This girl surprised me through out the entire show I honestly did not expect this. She just look like a magical goddess. Her gown is daring, can you see through her? lol. This gown is fashion. Absolutely mystical.

Fourth. 4. Trinidad & Tobago
Well, I think I caught on the idea of Miss Trinidad�s designer. This is the golden anniversary of the Miss Universe competition. Keeping everything gold and extravagant. From Trinidad�s National Costume to now her evening gown. This gown is simple but still demands massive attention and her height shows it off well. She stands out no matter where she stands in this gown. Wonderfully arranged!

Fifth. 5. Brazil
Here is something different and lovely. Brazil�s gown has flare and still is simple and lovely. With her height it is showed off better. This gown I must say is an individual design; where as a lot of the gowns basically have the same outline. Another hair style would better enhance the overall look of the gown but lovely idea and design.

Sixth. 6. Costa Rica
Simple, smooth with an outstanding colour. This gown has enough flare and must I add enough flare where it is needed; at the bottom. The gown hugs her body perfectly. She looks perfect just like a mannequin.

Seventh. 7. Russia
I never like gowns that are short like Russia�s gown because they are not designed well and with enough flare. Russia�s gown has flare and style because of the top region which contrast directly with the bottom area. It is not the color of the top portion but the sharp cut that makes the top part individual. The material around her arm is perfect length and creates a nice overall flow of the gown.

Eighth. 8. Greece
What does she look like? A Supermodel or a Goddess! Hello Aphrodite! This girl is glamorous and simple could someone ask here if she rose out of the �Greek Seas.� This gown is individual because of the colour not white but with a faded peach or pink. Put her against the heavenly clouds and she will blend in perfectly.

Ninth. 9. Panama
This gown looks like a Miss France�s gown from the 2000 Miss Universe competition in Cyprus. Green is a wonderful colour that works with her complexion and not work against it. The material that she has flowing is behind her is light and beautiful. I could imagine here walking in the wind.

Tenth. 10. Mexico
What bird is she. Her gown looks like the ruffled feathers of a young bird. With just enough flare at the bottom the gown is simple, sweet and stylish. Not everything has to be shining to look good. Her gown is classy and something I would see my wife wearing to go to the best rated hotel in the world. Stunning.

As much as I adored Denise, and had her as a "sure Top Three" until recently, I am afraid that her new look has sapped the 'angel' out of her. Quite simply, she was unbeatable (in the looks department) before, with her snow-white skin set against black hair. She really glowed. I also thing that the public relations blitz of trying to make her appear like "Jaquie O' arriving at the Westin RioMar in a limo and sunglasses is nothing short of ridiculous. The brains of her trainers must be examined! Now, she looks merely 'pretty', but she still possesses many wonderful qualities which will probably get her into the top ten.

I have chosen my top ten delegates based on the interview, and head shot portraits. We must remember that all these girls are intellignet but if I had to choose only ten then I choose the ten who is most sincare and honest and mostly how have accomplished much.

1. Miss Antigua & Barbuda
she is very intelligent and have quite a few accomplishments under her belt. For the first time I have heard of this country entering and they hit it hard the first time

2. Miss Nigeria
Knowing that this competition is not only brains but beauty she is well off in beauty. As for brains she sound average like most delegates. However, expression goes a long way; you could say "no" but the way you say it could mean more than a person who 'blabs' her mouth off.

3. Miss Trinidad & Tobago
She is one well accomplished girl and she has high hopes for the people in her country. Can the world hold anymore of this girl. She is intelligent, really beautiful, a knock out in her swimsuite, great height but she is so under rated in this competition. LOOK OUT SHE IS THE ONE TO TAKE THIS EVERYTHING!

4. Miss India
Always prepared and outstanding is she. India is on a roll and will obviously not send any one who is less that before. She is beautiful. A little short but good enough. but what is out standing is her face and accomplishments. HEY, SHE TOO COULD WALK WITH EVERYTHING.

5. Miss Philippines
She is a very intelligent and accomplished girl like the others here. she is also beautiful like all miss philippines who have been to these competition. They are always well prepared and looking unique.

6. Miss Ghana
This country always sends a delegate who is outstanding both in intelligence and beauty. she may not be the most beautiful of my chooices so far but she is well accomplished and she is making her family and country proud.

7. Miss Puerto Rico
This is not just because she from puerto rico but because she is beautiful. the photogenic award i think should go to either her or miss antigua. miss puerto rico has a warm honest heart and is beautiful. SHE COULD TAKE IT ALL!

8. Miss Venezuela
Beautiful and Intelligent she is accomplished and well outspoken. she was outstanding for the miss venezuela and she can take everything. look out.

9. Miss Greece
This girl has accomplishments from a young age and is still reaching to make a difference far in the future. she is honest and down to earth, something most beauty queens do not have because they want to impress the judges by telling nice stories.

10. Miss Canada
This lady has some heavy accomplishments that would benifit the entire world and the miss universe crown will only push her plans further. she is beautiful like most delegates. let us hope she does well.

Anyone who disagrees with me tell me off. Because you people are just looking at who is your favorite but not looking at the facts and baselines. That is why many people wonder why did this girl not get in; it is because you did not examine what makes each girl individual!

Personalmente creo que danaron a Denisse con el nuevo color de pelo. Se ve mas triguena. Ella se veia espectacular con su pelo negro, un color marron oscuro hubiera sido mas apropiado. I think that the new representative of Philippines for miss universe pageant will surely be one of the 3 finalist further more she could also be the new miss universe for she dont only have the looks but she is also very intelligent. a complete woman fitted for the much coveted crown.
