Broken Arrow

How high flies the broken arrow
when thunder cuts the night in half
and sky eyes chase the running flame
across the land of elves and men

burnt edged keeper of secrets knows
how high flies the broken arrow
for the crimson tide bathed the land
as flesh and steel were brought to bare

his kingdom fades within the mist
the sun ebbs on his northern heart
how high flies the broken arrow
across the far off broken plains

death’s sweet sleep to his side may come
the call of will, the ancient ones
warrior mine, what knowledge gleaned
how high flies the broken arrow
