In normal instances, the bad always outshines the good. Towards the end of Nixon's presidency he had approval rate of about 50% of people who agreed with the decisions that he was making. Many things that Nixon did were very controversial and the American public did not agree with anything that he was doing. For example is the secret bombing in Cambodia. The American public lost trust in the government during that time. When future presidents look back on Nixon's presidency, they will learn what not to do from him. His mistakes clearly out shined his contributions. No one remembers him for ending the Vietnam War, but as the president who was about to get impeached but suddenly stepped down.
