Eisenhower's most successful foreign policy action while President of the United States was in 1952 between Hungary and the Soviets. In this revolution Hungarian soldiers were moving out, as Soviets were moving Red Army Units into territory. Even though in the end, the Soviets were in better position to take the risks necessary to keep their position in Eastern Europe, than the US was willing to liberate Hungary at all costs; Eisenhower came out shining because he reacted in a down low manner instead of blowing it out of proportion when he let the Soviets celebrate their victory.
