Hi Wendy!
LOL!!! I usually use an Air-Bake cookie sheet my Mom got me for Christmas a few years ago and it is wonderful. I use it ONLY for cookies and it gets washed, dried and put up immediately after the last cookies are off and the pan has cooled. I've had it for many years and it still is shiny and looks like new. The cookies never burn or at least mine don't.

But, a long time ago before I had that pan, I used a tip I read in some cookbook to keep cookies from burning on the bottom. You use a piece of brown paper sack cut to the size of the bottom inside of the cookie sheet, then cover with aluminum foil. The brown paper will insulate the cookies from the hot metal and prevent them from burning on the bottom...and best of all...you don't have to wash the cookie sheets!!! I saved the cut brown paper and stored it with my cookie sheets. You can use it over and over. If it gets too dried out and crumbly, toss it and cut a new one.
If you don't have or can't get brown paper sacks, Wal-Mart carries a roll of brown paper that you get in the area where they sell packing supplies, like padded envelopes, packing tape, bubbly wrap, etc. It should work, too.

The paper sack/aluminum foil works great! Try it sometime or you can use parchment paper on the cookie sheet.
Hope this helps!
Patty
