Girl 13yo, Eastern Europe, endoscopic inspection through all oelvic openings

A female friend had cystoscopy. I got to come with a girl classmate to her physical exam, cause i was staying over at their place that day. The exam took place in Eastern Europe, 13yo, year 2005.

Neither she nor i realized she'd be told to strip fully naked while I was standing there watching. She was not happy about it, but was nice to see for me.

Had cystoscopy in a health centre. She heard something like this: We take you to some funny place but first you have to visit the doctor for a short checkup. Me and her mum went by car.

All children in the area has a mandatory cystoscopy before beginning school. All prepuberty children in the area has a mandatory cystoscopy. All teens in the area has a mandatory cystoscopy as a part of the puberty assessment. The cystoscopy was a part of a research project.


PREPARATIONS

Given laxatives at home before the exam. Given enema during preparations. While in bed given medicine to get very sleepy but was awake. The whole bed was rolled with her upon when the time for the exam had come. Taken vitals like temperature, heart rate and blood pressure. A doctor came asked questions and explained. A consent formula was presented and signed. Got a shot to calm down and make sleepy. Was totally naked during exam. Lay on back with legs in stirrups.

HOW THEY EXAMINED HER

They put a flexible snake-like cystoscope in through the urethra. They pumped up and irrigated bladder with water when looking inside. They took out the scope and inserted a new scope to take further specimens. The scope or a new intrument was inserted even further up towards the kindeys.

They also used an ultrasond probe on the stomach to inspect the bladder area. They inserted an ultrasond probe in through the vagina to inspect the bladder and genital area.

They inspected with a scope some way up into the colon - sigmoidoscopy. They inspected the whole colon - full colonoscopy.

DIAGNOSIS AND FOLLOW-UP

Diagnosis - low bladder capasity. Had to have catheter in the bladder during night. Social or psychological councelling or a training program.

JUDGEMENT

It was useful. Since it wasn't me but my girl classmate getting it it was fine. had not seen her naked before so was really nice


COMMENTS

In America it would be unheard of to let a friend watch this intimate procedure.

But other cultures have other standards regarding nakedness, making the observation by the boy possible, but not very usual.

It is also possible that she asked for him to be there as support.

They surely planned the same procedure for the boy and had possibly planned to examined him the same day, but that got postponed.

In societies where all teens go through this procedure, they try to do it as cheap and as streamlined as possible, resulting in many teens brought together in the same room.

Possibly the boy was not inside the examination room, but only followed her to the room, and got told by the girl what she experienced, and that he imagined being there.

In some societies around the world all children and teens have a mandatory or recommended pelvic exam that includes a cystoscopy examination of the genitals and inspection through the anus, sometimes extended to full colonoscopy.

Often this exam is done under general anesthesia. But general anesthesia includes risks and is more expensive. Therefore simpler anesthesia is sometimes used especially when all teens in the area has this exam.

The procedure is very little talked about to the public and will therefore often come as a surprize.

When all teens in an area go through this procedure it is not only for the benefit of the teens but also for surveillance and research.

The procedure described is standard, and the ages too.

According to my reports it looks like this examination is useful for many teens because problems that could get worse is found and correted.

Having catheter during night is a fairly common procedure for teens having problems with the function of the bladder. but little talked about. Social councelling with training is also ccommon.

It could be interesting to her the boy tell about the exams he probably had too.
