I don't know if this is a standardized test or not, or if it possibly was in 1960s. Frankly a lot of BS went on then and still does, unfortunately But whatever it is or was, it's perverted and disgusting! It is an obvious abuse of the doctor's status and authority. It is immoral, damaging, and inexcusable! In addition to everything else, it could not possibly produce any kind of objective and useful result because the doctor's touching alone could certainly cause a physical reaction on the part of the boy. It's possible that it was something else, some other kind of test that was not discussed, or disclosed, or more probably just plain old pedophilia!. Occam's razor states that the simplest, least complicated explanation is usually the most probable. In any case, I think r they should have locked up the doctor and thrown away the key!
