Girl 13yo North America exam after own concern for genital development

I am a female. I was a teenage, 13yo. I asked my dad if my vulva lips looked normal or not. He got embarrassed and told me to ask a doctor. Year 1990 - 1999. In North America.

I was examined in a health centre, a clinic associated with a medical school. Dad drove me. A doctor examined me with presens of male and female medical students and dad (I asked him to stay present).

OVERVIEW OF THE EXAM

They examined my head teeth or jaws. They did an orthopedic exam. They examined my organs inside my stomach. They examined my genitals. They examined my rectal zone. They did a general examination of my pelvic zones. They inserted instruments into my vagina, speculum. They performed a full functional test of my breathing heart and blood circulation under workload.

They performed a psychological exam. They made interrogations about my social relations and my daily life. Any other kind of exam please specify? joint flexion.

ARRANGEMENTS

All done without any gown or covering none was offered or suggested I was totally naked. The nurse told me to get completely naked (her words) as soon as I entered the examination room.

THE ORDEAL STEP BY STEP

Full visual and manual examination of skin over entire body.

Then removal of all pubic hair so my lips could be seen more clearly. Then armpit hair to check for moles.

Asked me personal sexual questions and asked about sexual thoughts while giving a breast exam.

Then very thorough genital exam stretching the labia measuring them popping the clitoris out.

Tested the range of movement of my limbs in many positions.
They also walked me naked to another room to run on a treadmill with electrodes still nude. They took a urine sample right after the treadmill part standing right there peeing into a cup.

The exam ended this way: I had to walk naked for a significant distance down the hallways to get to where my clothes were taken.

REASON AND GUDGEMENT

What do you think was the reason for this exam? My dad wanted to answer my curiosity about if my vulva looked normal What is your opinion about thios experience? It was a little embarrassing mostly being looked at naked by students. I didn't mind doctor or dad.

MORE ABOUT THE GENITAL EXAM

They palpated my outer female genitals. They spread my genital lips to look inside. They examined my vagina with a speculum. They also had me briefly demonstrate how I touch myself at night to make sure it was not in a damaging way.

MORE ABOUT THE EXAM OF THE RECTAL ZONE

They spread my cheeks and examined extarnally my rectal zone. They examined my rectum with an inserted finger.

PSYCHOSOSIAL ASSESSMENT

Someone came and performed a psychological test even though I was called in for quite another thing. I was asked in detail about how I feel about changes to my body and what was healthy development. Someone strange person came and performed a social interrogation even though I was called in for quite another reason. Seemed very concerned with what I thought about my sexual organs and how much I knew about sex.

SOME OBSERVATIONS

The exam took a very long time, over 2 hours in total. The exam resulted in this diagnosis: doctor said my lips look healthy and normal but I should still get more frequent physical exams.

FOLLOW-UPS

New exams as follow up please specify: Said I should see him or another doctor every 3 months for a full skin exam until puberty finishes. Psychological or social counceling as follow up: I was given the card of a 'body shame' counselor but I never visited her.

COMMENTS

They were concerned that her own concern for her genital lips was due to some development problems, unhealthy sexual habits, of hidden disease, physical and psychological, and made a full exam to rule this out. Diseases elsewhere in the body can often give problems in the genital and rectal area.

But the doctor also took the opportunity to use her as a teaching object for students and planned to do so also in the follow-ups.

The exhibistic way the exam was performed points however to the octor having some sexual interests in the girl.
