Boy, 12 yo, cystoscopy with anal procedure by home visit

I had cystoscopy - I am male. The exam took place in North America. Hospital. 12 years old. Year 2011.

A doctor and nurse team performed the cystoscopy in a home visit. Got no explanation. The exam was a total surprize. Mother and nurse were present beside the doctor.


PREPARATIONS

While in bed given medicine to get very sleepy but was awake. Had to walk by myself to the exam. Taken vitals like temperature heart rate and blood pressure. Got lubricating and pain-killing fluid inserted in through the pee-hole. Was totally naked during exam.


THE EXAM AS I REMEMBER IT

I lay on my back with streight legs. They put a rigid stick-like cystoscope in through the urethra. They inspected anus with a scope. Had to stay in bed more that a day after the exam.


DIAGNOSIS AND FOLLOW-UP

Diagnosis - low bladder capasity. Had corrective surgery. Had to have a cathetherization routine. The reason was problems with urination.


JUDGEMENT ABOUT THE ORDEAL

It was not any big deal. It was painful.


COMMENT

I guess that the anal procedure was an ultrasound exam to view his prostate and his pelvic region in general.

It is not told how the team was called to the boy. But I guess
that the parents of all children hot a formula to fill out about health concern regarding the children, but possibly all children in the area got visted for the procedure.

I also guess that the team arrived in a great van with examination rooms and equipment inside. Such amnulating teams exist and they drive around to homes where there are children. Hospital was also mentioned, probably for the surgery.
