*She returns, silent, alone. She had followed the now-dead Dark Angel to the Neverending Hills in silence, with hope. She returned in silence without it. The filly, the grand-filly Hyzenflae needed to keep any honor to her name would surely die. Honor was not passed through sons - Desertbred Arabians kept pure, matrilineal pedigrees, and now Hyzenflae was almost certain she would die the equivalent of a penniless beggar, unless she could find a decent Arab stallion to bond with, to yield to her dominance, her often aloof character - perhaps he would have the audacity to provide her with a filly foal. The mare's long, sweeping motion carries her to the springs, where she drinks briefly, then looks about, tossing her head a few times.*
